Here is a shot of my house from the lake, see where the snow is leaving?
So, then I took a walk down by the edge of the water. Lo and Behold, we have lift off! I could see some water at the edge instead of all ice:

You're giving me hope!
So awesome that the leaves from autumn are still preserved. We're fast heading towards summer here. Each day it gets a bit warmer and the grass turns more golden, which is a nice way of saying it's all getting burnt by lack of rain.
Shellmo: Yes, I am hanging on by a thread too. Maybe we should do a spring dance to bring it on?
Loree: I am longing for green grass, dandelions, and my tulips! You are lucky to be ahead of us. Hope you get some rain though!
Being in So. Cal., I have no right to complain about our winters. lol!
You'll have to come ober to Australia in a magic pumpkin to have a break from the cold.
June in Oz
JJ:I see where you might be getting some rain? But I am sure your weather there is wonderful. I love the spring, summer and autumn here...it is just the long winters that are hard to endure.
June: A magic pumpkin ride to Australia would be wonderful!! I know it is a beautiful country!
Spring is coming! Slowly but surely. I heard frogs chirping the other night. That made my day! I'm loving these blue skies today too!
DVM Wife: You heard frogs chirping?? That IS good news. Haven't heard that here yet! But now things will quickly change, I think. Sunday we are supposed to be close to 50 degrees with sun. Whoopie! I am so glad.
Have you been keeping track of your ice out dates? The day when the lake is completely free of ice? Around these parts there are often contests to see who guesses correctly. We get pretty bored.. LOL Your photographs are very nice! :)
IF we can just hang on... It's almost there... maybe in about 4 weeks we can plant...
I'm right there with ya! Bring on spring. The tulips are popping up here in the LP, but it frickin snowed the other day. I am optimistic though, and got each son his own garden tools (for June, ha ha ha).
Far Side: I need to start doing that on my calendar this year. I know two years ago, we went and visited my kids down in Chicago on Easter weekend, and when we got back, all the ice was gone!!
Screen Door: Thanks so much for joining my blog as a Follower! Yes, I am trying to hang on. I can't wait to get my hands on my garden dirt.
Maniacal: I know...just when we think it is the last snow...it snows AGAIN!! Hang in there!
Our unusual early spring snow melted the next day. we keep jumping from 70 to 29 to 68 to 32, etc, etc. Plus our wind is trying to blow us all out of state.
Grannyann: Wow..at least you made it into the 70"s...we won't see that kind of warmth until June or later! Hang on to your hat in the wind!
We had a week or so of high winds too. Maybe it is spring shoo-ing out winter! We can hope!!
