Another Dose of Local News Reports!...

I have a pile of old local police news reports which I have kept because I thought they were so silly to have been reported to the police.

Every once in a while, I do a blog post about them, along with MY THOUGHTS (in bold italics):

Here was one that occurred on 9/4/08:

If you cannot read the small print of the one I have circled, it reads:"9:31p.m.: two eight year olds not getting along, 100 block of Dobson".

Who knew you could call the police? Gheesh! Had I known THIS when my kids were little, I may have utilized it. No need for "time outs"...just call the police and have them hauled away. No more need for valium!

Here is another from 10/7/08:

It reads: "5:40pm: caller requesting wife be removed from his residence, 300 block of W. Park."

So, NOW I get it. If your kids fight, call the cops. If you don't want your spouse anymore, don't worry about the cost and hassle of getting a lawyer and filing for divorce. Just call the police! Who knew???

Imagine that so many cases of kids quarrel in one day, your police station must have been flooded with the kids or their parents or the neighbours who lodged the police report.

With the way my kids go at it sometimes, I could imagine cops being called for rowdy kids, maybe even by the neighbors!

Sad that when I call to break up a party or something, the police never come; they must want to collect randomly angry family members instead!

I wonder if they ever found the missing bench; tragic.

Poor cops! They have better things to do!

P.S. How's your weather today???

Too bad I couldn't call the cops, when I didn't want my brothers around anymore, when I was 8 years old.

I better not let hubby know about this. The kids and I would be handcuffed in a flash......

Can I call the police when my husband refuses to buy ice cream for me? Sounds like a reasonable excuse, huh?

I just have to shake my head!!!

My brother's old neighbors used to call the police on his and each other's kids constantly. These were for eight year olds too. Some people are just clearly crazy. I guess that last one is a good example of the old joke, "Take my wife, please."

Sometimes, I wonder if DHR or the Po-lease will come knocking on my door.

I will just point to my two arguing girls and say "it's their fault".

Rainfield: good thing they don't call the police when politicians start at it!

Insanity Kim: I give credit to any of the police staff that have to go in and break up a family fight! I wouldn't want their jobs!

Shellmo: that is for sure! It must be the awful part of their jobs. Sorry I didn't answer your comments until now..I was gone to Lansing for 4 days (I posted the blog posts on scheduled publishing before I left and didn't get to read other blogs or answer comments very well while I was on the road). The weather down there was the 80's !!! Everything is all green and lots of flowers in bloom already.

JJ: I hear you. Once when I was about 11, my brother held me down and colored my nose with a bright orange magic marker!! SECURITY!!!!!!!!

Maniacal: Use the information to your advantage. ha

Lynn: I like your way of thinking!

Grannyann: That is why I had to start sharing these real police reports with is incredible what people have called the police about!

Ratty: Yes! Some of those people are pretty strange!

Joycee: I will check out your blogsite! Thanks!!

Gaston: What is a great idea? The posting of the police reports? I had to share them because it was unbelievable what people reported to the police.

Loree: Sometimes we'd be better off not knowing! ha

Kearsie: Some parent must be pretty desparate to call the police about their kids!

Roshni: I say, give them a pay raise!!!
