Florida Trip: Part FIVE

Back to more random pictures of our sunny Florida trip!

Enjoy!

You can't go to Florida, on the western coast...
without taking some sunset photos, right?:

Flying seagulls!:

Unknown plant. Anyone know what it is?
(It looked like an Alien seed pod to me, but that's just me):

Who can't look out on ocean waves
and
not be content?:

I don't know the name of this plant either....but I loved its spidery blossoms:

This was blooming on an empty, deserted, kind of sandy plot of land:

A great heron, right on the dock beside our hotel:

Evidently, he had an itch or two!:
(I offered to help scratch it for him, but evidently the southern birds don't take kindly
to us Northern folks!)

Not to worry, though....
I still liked HIM.

More great photos Joan; quite a bit different from the masses of snow and ice in your neck of the woods. Can't wait to see the Savannah photos!

Loved the flying seagulls photo, the lovely yellow bloom and the startling seed pod, which is alien to me too!

That is a most unusual flower, just before the last two photos!

Wonderful shots. I especially love the heron images. H and his shadow in the first one and how you've captured his head feathers up in the second. Great stuff.

You have such a way with words in describing your photos. I just love it.

The alien seed plant was great, and that sunset was awesome. Oh, and the waves...well, I felt myself relaxing just looking at them.

Thanks for sharing!

Great pictures, Joan... Florida is a nice place to go --and to take pictures. Will you continue to go annually after the kids move back to Michigan????

Those last two Heron pictures are good --especially the one with the itch!!!!!! Great shadow pictures too.
Hugs,
Betsy

The alien seed pod plant is very interesting. I wonder what it is. I tried to look it up with no luck.

I think your alien seed plant is a
magnolia seed pod... the red seeds are
usually popping up all over this time of year.

Maybe - maybe not
