A visit to Lantana, Florida and the Atlantic Ocean!

After we spent some time in the Tampa area, and at the Homosassa Springs area,
we went to the east coast to visit a dear friend in Lantana, Florida
and an Aunt in West Palm Beach.

As much as I love the Gulf waters, the Atlantic ocean was wonderful, too...
and the water was warmer.

So today, I am posting some random pictures of Lantana and the ocean there.

There is a lovely pier there and the pelicans like to land on the pier awnings:

I spied this little one playing on the beach..so focused! His mom was sitting up to the left keeping her eye on him, but he looked so cute, I had to use my long lens to capture him:

People and birds walking by the pier:

Chairs waiting for you and me!:

A hungry bird eating on the pier!:

We went here for breakfast..a wonderful place!:

Sun, sand, birds, ocean and people walking the beach...a lovely day!:

His big sister joined him in playing in the sand...

All kinds of these black capped seagulls on the shore:

Ocean waves!:

The Pier!:

If we would have had more time, I would have wanted to have a go
at that fishing pole!:

Can you hear the waves and the seagulls?:

We took a lovely stroll all the way down the pier, talked to some fisherman and visited the pelicans on the arched covers!:

I ADORE this picture of my friend Maureen picking seashells along the shore...
her hat was so cute:

Hello, Cutie Pie!:

What a wonderful face!:

Wonder what kind of sea vessels hooked up to this old chain pole. If only it could talk:

Under the pier:
(Look again at the top right of the picture, right under the pier floor..is that a man's ghost?)

This sunset picture is a trick picture.
Do you know why?:
Because the sun does not set on the ocean in Lantana..it is on the EAST coast of Florida...it gets sunRISES on the ocean...
this photo is actually a sunset on the GULF.

(Just wanted to mess with your head to see if you were paying attention!)

Have a great day everyone!!

these photos are every single one of them extraordianry, they are beautiful and the clarity and colors are wonderful. these are my favorites of all your photos from your trip to FL. that could be because hubby and I much prefer the east coast to the west where we live. we had intended to move to Ormond Beach when i retired, then the real estate fell through the hole into Alice land and we are stuck here. the pelican is my favorite bird and this one is beautiful, but my favorite pick of thes is the gulls at the bottom, the water and beach looks wet, like i can feel it. beautiful photography today

You had a lovely day. I would love to walk out on that pier too. The colours of the sea are gorgeous. Great shots of the birds especially Mr Pelican's face.

You photos transported me to the warm, sunny beach. Then I had to return to reality...it's raining and chilly outside! Darn!

Ahhh, thanks for the day at the beach. Just what I needed! If you listen carefully, the seagulls call out my name. Seriously! Listen! "Pat! Pat!"

Fascinating pictures.Since I live many miles away from any ocean,I enjoy seeing the pictures others take.

Well, now you've gone and done it! I enjoyed the Gulf pictures, because we used to visit Tampa, St. Pete, and Clearwater area every couple of years, and I loved it! However, the East Coast! Ahhh, the East Coast was home!! I lived in Vero Beach when I was a child. The Atlantic is the only "real" ocean to me, because I spent enormous amounts of time there. Living in an Oceanside town is heaven on earth!! It's been decades since I lived there, but I miss it still. Your photos reminded me how much. Thanks for the memories.

Sigh! This makes me yearn for Ocean City, MD and Assateague Island! Can't wait for September!

These photos are wonderful. The two that really caught my eye are the pier and the pelican. I did like them all just those two really were winners to me.

You have such a talent for using pictures to tell stories, Joan. You definitely put a smile on my face with these. That black & brown bird eating on the pier looked like his feathers were made of crushed velvet. He was just gorgeous! Thanks for sharing!

What a gorgeous day at the beach, I like both of FL's coasts for different reasons. Love the close up of the pelican.

WOW! One great photo after another. did you notice that the "hungry bird eating on the pier" looks like a giant that is about to eat some little people?
