We interrupt winter to bring you this Spring MESSAGE....

I know I have been showing you a TON of winter pictures lately.

And, I still have MORE to show you.

But NOT TODAY!

Because we have had the most spectacular, warm weather EVER for this time of year over the last week or so.

So much warmth and sun, and so welcomed!

We went for a walk to the post office yesterday
and
saw
THIS!:
I couldn't BELIEVE that the crocuses were up and in bloom.

It is very early here for Crocuses....normally they don't come up until April here.

And, even MORE surprising?

I saw THIS in my yard!:
My tulips are coming up already!!!

IT IS TOO SOON!

Now, I am afraid they will all die.

Because we will surely get more snow and freezing temperatures here yet.

I have over 500 tulips in my yard!

I don't want them to die before they are born.

So, I went around and told each and every one of them to SLOW DOWN!

(I hope they heard me).

Then?

I went to look at the crocuses some more!:

They were HEAVENLY to see!:

All day, we saw the cattails sending out their billowy seeds in the wind, too:

A bouquet of spring!:

Let's look at them closer, okay?
Because HERE?
They are going to be covered with snow again before REAL SPRING arrives.
I guarantee it!:
(There is even a bee in the lower left flower....do you see it?)

This one reminds me of a Q-tip!:

I will hold this dream in my thoughts for a long time....
until
our true spring arrives here!:

(Taking a deep breath)....

Now, let's get back to some more winter photos in the next blogpost, shall we?

I am glad you talked to the tulips. They are too young and less experience to handle the current weather.

I hope your flowers are listening to you. It is so wonderful to see the flowers but like you say, there is more winter in the horizon. Very lovely photos and they do help get through this long winter.

Just BEAUTIFUL, but I know exactly what you are saying ... as much as we have been loving this "wonderful" weather in Upper Michigan, we're sure snow is still going to blow in. We always get that one last blast!!! We saw our first Robin yesterday.

Spring must indeed have come. Thanks for celebrating it so artistically.

How delightful! I haven't seen any flowers here yet but we certainly do have warm temps. I'm loving every moment of it! You know one of the best things I enjoy about this weather? Getting into bed at night and not being cold! LOL!

I do hope the tulips survive. After all it is only March.

GORGEOUS background!!

My youngest daughter asked what the hotdog on a stick in a swamp was called.

She would be glad to know it's a giant Qtip.

Beautiful signs of spring. The crocuses are gorgeous.

That is amazing that your crocuses are blooming up there already, Joan.. GREAT pictures... We finally had some sunshine (a little) today--so our Crocuses opened. I took some pictures of ours too...

Hope the Tulips HEAR you and slow down a little. I pray that you don't have a huge freeze again like we did in 2007--when we lost everything.

Great pictures of your spring!!!
Hugs,
Betsy

I see the bee, too! I've seen a few flowers around here, but nothing like those!!!

Those are just the most wonderful pictures ever!!! And our tulips -- get this -- are BLOOMING! Three weeks early! There will be no tulips left for the last half of the Tulip Festival held April 1-30. I know, I called the places where they are planted and they are very worried.

Everything around here thinks it's already spring too, except the squirrels. It was almost warm enough to go without a jacket the last two days.

Beautiful and even if winter does come back he won't stay long, I am so excited for Spring...:-) Hugs

You have spring..one year my tulips bloomed in the snow..then the next year the deer came in and ate them all. I never replanted. It will make awesome photos when all of yours bloom ..especially if it snows:)

Joan, you better not be doing snow dances up ther, it just may affect my Spring down here in Ohio!

Eva: I am sure we will "go back to winter" here a few more times before we get "true spring"....sigh.

PearTree (Leann): Yay! Welcome to my blog...I am so glad you found me..thanks so much!

JJ: Me too! Up north we especially adore them because it usually means our long, long winter is coming to a close.

Misslynda: I am so happy a few new folks are finding my blog and liking it, you guys are making my day! Yes, please visit often, I hope you join(ed) on as a Follower and that you find time to comment often too! I will stop by to check out your blog too.

Cathy: I will let you know...the roads are still wet in the woods, so we haven't treked out there too much to look yet.

Grannyann: OH NO..that sounds like horrible weather coming your way. We have been verrrrry lucky this winter, we have missed many, many of the storms everyone else is got..which is unusual for us...we usually get several blizzards every winter.

DJan: It has been crazy for weather...people who usually get cold and a ton of snow didn't (Like us) and people who normally don't get snow have been blasted this year...and now spring is coming early all over, followed by more unpredictable cold for some folks. El Nino, or global warming, or just Mother Nature in some crazy PMS cycle? Who knows!

Ratty: Yes, we have gone on many walks this past week with only hoodies on and no winter coats..isn't it GREAT???

Bernie: Me, too...we so deserve a warm, long spring!

FarSide: For some reason, (knock on wood!) we haven't had any deer in our yard...and we are quite rural..so no animals are eating my tulips...I just keep adding 50 or more per year because I love them so much.

Wanda: No snow dances here, I love spring too!

SquirrelQueen said...

I see the little bee, I hope he has a warm place to hide if you get more snow. The crocuses are gorgeous, especially the yellow ones since I haven't seen that color before.

It has been so warm and nice here I mowed my lawn yesterday, in mid March I mowed....that is weird for here. I have been trying to get yard work done in case we get our usual March wind and rain.

The Retired One said...

SquirrelQueen: yes, we already got a dusting of snow yesterday...so we will be up and down like that probably all through March and even April. We won't be mowing any lawns around here for a few months. ha
