More Local Police Reports!!

Yes, indeed.

It's that time again.

Time for a local Police Report for you straight from here. I know you can hardly contain yourselves.

This is a short one. Only one thing circled:

For my fellow Bifocal wearers, I will retype this little jewel for you below:

"7:15 pm: report of stolen vehicle, later found. Owner had forgotten where it was parked."

************************************************************************************

MY COMMENTS:

1. Did they give them the name of the local Alzheimer's Unit?

2. Did they give them a breathalizer test?

3. Did they check to see if it really was this person's car, or did the police just help someone steal a car?

4. Was it ME? (I'll never tell)......

5. Quit laughing. It could have been YOU. Admit it. Who hasn't gone into Walmart and then come out and have NO IDEA where you parked? If you said it hasn't happened to you, you are a liar.

6. Like, dude. How embarrassed would you be? Here is the police. Everybody is watching what the deal is. You are distraught, giving the police the description of your car:

"Oh, Dear. That car is just a few years old. I just don't know WHAT I am going to do!" (wringing hands).

Officer: Its okay, M'am. We will do our best to find it for you and put the person in jail who did this to you.

"And I had my favorite pictures in the car of my kids. Oh Dear!" (starting to cry now)

Officer: Don't cry. We will give you a ride home. Is there anyone we can call for you?

"Oh, my husband is going to be SO upset! He doesn't even like it when the car gets a spot of dirt on it..and now THIS. How will I ever tell him?"

Officer: We can help you with that. We can tell him of all the statistics of car thefts in the area. It happens more often than you know, Ma'm. Could have happened to anyone!

"Wait a minute....ummmmmmmmm"....(look of recognition and then horror) "I THINK...I mean don't quote me on this..but I THINK maybe....just maybe...that's my car right here. Well, what do you think of that??? (looking at shoes and kicking can)...maybe they brought it back? (smiling weakly). I mean...it is possible that I might have, well, maybe...just a tinsy bit maybe...have just forgotten that I parked it here???? I mean they all do kinda look alike, don't they? Officer???? Officer???? Now where did they GO?"......

Just remember this lady when you think YOU are having a bad day. Not so bad NOW , is it???

Don't mess with women!

Here is another news story that you may find amusing. As usual, after the article, MY COMMENTS will be found in bold italics.

Enjoy!!

STOCKBRIDGE, WI (AP) -- Four Wisconsin women are accused of tying up and assaulting a married man after allegedly finding out he was romantically involved with each of them.

The women are each charged with being party to false imprisonment, a felony with a maximum prison term of six years. One is charged with fourth-degree sexual assault.

Calumet County prosecutors say 48-year-old Therese A. Ziemann of Menasha lured the man to a Stockbridge motel last Thursday. Prosecutors say she was soon joined by 43-year-old Michelle Belliveau of Neenah, 43-year-old Wendy L. Sewell of Kaukauna, and the man's wife.

Authorities say Ziemann punched the man in the face and glued his penis to his stomach.

The Associated Press is not naming the victim's wife to protect the man's identity as a victim of sexual assault.

The women are free on $200 cash bails.

************************************************************************************

1. Never, EVER mess with a woman in the romance arena.

2. If you do, hide the super glue.

3. Oh, and rope. Don't forget the macrame ropes and various craft supplies. Women are resourceful. And imaginative. Besides, you really didn't think we LIKE doing those stupid ass crafts, did you? It was all a way to hide our secret weapons.
4. What's worse than a woman scorned??? TWO women scorned.

5. Knock, knock. Who's there? Two women armed with glue and rope. Hide your penis.

6. Surprise, Honey. Look what I found? YOUR OTHER LOVER. Now, don't you want to have sex. Right NOW? What? You can't seem to ummm.."get in the mood?"
It wouldn't be the glue that's got you worried, is it?
Because you SAID you like to get kinky, remember? REMEMBER?????

Loons: Part 3

Hi Everyone,
Hope your weekend has been wonderful.

I am still at my daughter's as you read this, hugging on my grandkids and singing Happy 2nd Birthday to my grandaughter, Miranda.

I preposted these to automatically publish on Sunday for you, during my absence.

I may not get to your comments until I get back from my trip, but please know I love gettnig them and I will answer you back when we return on Monday or Tuesday.

Until then, sit back with a hot cup of coffee and enjoy the 3rd and final installment of the loon pictures. Some will look like repeats to you because I did closeups of some of the pictures in succession. I click away fast when I see wildlife, so I don't miss any poses or happenings.

Although I have a lot of pictures of the loons being stressed from the speedboat across the lake, it wasn't that often that it occurred. I just took several pictures of them when it occurred so I wouldn't miss their spread wings.

That being said...
Here he is again with outstretched wings!
Warning the bad old boat not to come across the lake:

He seems like a very busy guy, warning that boat!:

That darn pole had to be in the way by the dock, ruining my photo opportunity.
BAD DOCK!!:

CHARGE!...:

I love the drop of water from his beak:

This guy must be a football linebacker. Hmm..what team's colors are black and white?
Here he goes again!:

Showing a little belly here! Must be doing the "side stroke" in the swimming competition:

She seems a little bored with the "protection thing", doesn't she?

Such a lovely couple!:

Here we go again!:

That's it, folks!!

Show is over.

Thanks for coming.

Loons: Part 2

As you know from yesterday's post, I got the wonderful experience of seeing loons on Lake Arflin earlier this week.

Of course I took a zillion pictures of them, so lucky you....I had so many I am going to do three (count them: THREE) posts with just the shots I got of them.

Besides, as you are reading this, I am on my way to visit my daughter, husband and to hug on my two grandkids for the weekend. I preposted these blog posts so that they would schedule to go on my blog while I am away....

Hope you enjoy these pictures half as much as I enjoyed taking them!:
I think they are beautiful creatures:

The loon did not like the boat across the lake that was hauling a person on a water tube.
The boat did not come close at all to the loons, but he went into
protective mode right away:

Just going for a leisurely swim as a couple:

Peek-a-boo, Fish....I see you!:

Another shot of this beauty:

Primping to be done.....

I thought I felt a fish tickle my webbed feet!:

They went by a boat dock to our right, so the big pole in the way of the next photo, could not be helped. The boat was starting up again across the lake, so the loon went into protective mode again!:

Aren't his black and white markings on his back remarkable???

They just amaze me!

We will be gone a few days, so if I don't get to read or comment on your blogs (or answer your comments on my blog) for a few days, be patient! I will get to them and I will read them.

Tomorrow, I have preposted the last set of loon pictures for you, so check back then!

I should be back by Monday....

Have a wonderful weekend everyone!

Cliffhanger Explained...Part 1

Sorry that I haven't been posting daily this week.
For the next two or three weeks, we are going to be doing some traveling and then we are expecting company, so I can't spend as much time at the computer as usual.
So, the last time we chatted, I left a cliffhanger, now didn't I?
And then, I made you WAIT.
That wasn't very nice. I know.
But hopefully, you will be as excited as I was with what came next at Arflin Lake.
Remember the beautiful Merganser duck that surprised us by being there? (If not, go back 2 posts!!).
Well after we got all excited and I got all those photos, we continued chatting with the nice couple we had just met on the lakeshore. We were joking that at least we didn't get "skunked" and go home without any pictures of wildlife. And I mentioned how grateful I was to see the Merganser, and how it was well worth the wait and drive out to the lake that day.
I was telling the couple how I love blue herons, eagles, loons, moose, egrets, and that there were several types of animals and birds on my "wish" list yet to photograph.
And then I look out to the lake.
And I see...................................................................THIS!:

My FIRST loon opportunity!

I was so excited, I could hardly find him in my lens on the lake to shoot the picture.

Loons are usually VERY shy.

I was SURE I wasn't going to capture him.

And I look closer.

There are TWO there!:

They seemed oblivious to the four of us on shore.

They just swam around and around and fished.

There was a boat across the lake pulling someone on a tow rope and a tube.

They seemed more concerned about watching them.

This one began flapping his wings at the sound of the boat across the lake:

They swam over to our side of the lake, much to my delight!

Here they are right next to a dock to the right of the boat landing where we were standing:

Aren't they BEAUTIFUL?????

Taking a lazy swim in the water:

Dipping in for a fish snack:

What? You didn't bring me any fish?:

Even my backside is pretty. See?:

My side profile is pretty awesome, too:

The boat across the lake turned and made a circle
closer to them.
Not real close....
but enough
to
make
this
one
do THIS!:

Wow, his markings were SPECTACULAR~!!

As soon as the boat got further away,
he relaxed and went
back to fishing.
I got many more photos of them.
Stay tuned for Part 2 and Part 3
of
my loon photographs.
Coming to your local blog shortly!!!...........
(Now wasn't the cliffhanger WORTH it?)
I know it was for ME!!!!

Thanks SO much to Cowguy and Sass!!

I won a CD on Sass's blog for a free CD from Cowguy and his group called Keota! Cowguy has this hilarious blog called Sawdust and Cowpies. I mean, with a title like that, you know you'll love his humor!

If you ever want some great country, foot stompin' music, this CD is wonderful and will have you tapping your feet for sure. Go to his blog and you can order it there.

Go ahead.

I'll wait.

Are you back now?

As I was saying:

Thanks to both Sass and Cowguy for your wonderful blogs and for your generosity!!

Oh, and this is what Cowguy wrote on his CD:

"To the cutest blogger in Michigan".

Gosh, he has the power to make an old lady blush and laugh at the same time. Obviously, he majored in flirt 101.

(I'll send him the bribe money later). ha

P.S. I posted another blogpost today below this one, so if you haven't read it yet, click on down now, ya' hear? (Did I sound country? Did I?)

Meandering Merganser...

On Sunday, we decided to go out for a ride in the woods again to see what photos I could capture.

My husband said he wanted to take me to see a small lake that he used to go fishing in when he was younger, called Arflin Lake which wasn't too far from where we live.

The road out to the lake was awful! It was actually blacktopped but the frost heaves had made the road extremely bumpy.

I admit, I complained about it. A. Lot.

Then I sorta whined about not seeing one, single live animal or bird to take photos of.

A. Lot.

I begged him to go off onto a non-blacktop road with the chances of seeing more wildlife.

He wouldn't, saying...."Just be patient, we are almost there!".

Can you tell he is the patient one in this couple?

He was right. It was right around the corner.

So we pulled into the parking lot where the public access site was to launch boats. It was kind of a steep hill.

I looked down and was dissapointed. Dang, there were already people there! So much for pictures!

But it was a pretty little lake...

Here is the view coming down to see the lake. See the little couple sitting in their lawn chairs overlooking the lake? They had fishing poles in the water.:

THEY were probably thinking...dang, there's people here!

We said hello, and looked at the little lake.
It was really picturesque.
Just lovely:

The man said that the deepest fishing hole was right by that big rock:

We got to chatting and found out he was retired, and she was going to work another year and retire then too. We were all grandparents. They had property in Florida where we like to visit. We found all kinds of things in common.

They were delightful!

He asked me about my camera and I told them all about my love for nature photography and how I was dissappointed today about not seeing anything to photograph.

Oh, and I did happen to mention my blog...

No sooner had we talked and I saw a duck to my left in the grass!

He was beautiful!

So, up goes the camera and I start clicking away!

A Merganser Duck:

Diving for his dinner!:

Just LOOK at his handsome head feathers, even when wet!:

He kept swimming close to us, as if posing for pictures!:

And of course: fishing for a meal!:

And I kept saying how HANDSOME he was!:

Man, he was HUNGRY!:

His feathers were marvelous!:

Finally!!!

Success!

He caught a minnow!:

Followed by a sip of water.

Whoops, fella..

you forgot to wipe your mouth!:

Of course. I was happy!
And then, all the way home, I had to listen to my husband teasing me about whining about not seeing anything.
Ok Honey, it was worth the ribbing.
Oh, and one more thing.
We saw the BEST after we saw this Merganser.
But THAT will be in another blogpost.
Let's just call this a cliffhanger, shall we?

Bittersweet Rummage Sale Time!

I don't know if you remember or not, but I have mentioned before that I planned to open up an antique store. We are in the midst of renovating two homes, one of which was going to be the location of the shop.

We have run into some county regulations which may prevent my using the property for this, so I am a bit discouraged, but trying to investigate through the red tape.

We have collected antiques and collectables throughout the years, and we once had a huge Victorian home full of these type of treasures. I have a lot of them in storage awaiting the shop opening.

In the meantime, I have tried to refrain from collecting more things for inventory, just in case we cannot open the shop, after all.

However, I made an exception this weekend.

Our neighbors who come to the lake just for the summers have decided to sell their place and stay in North Carolina full time. We just got to know them over the last two or three summers, and we really like these folks. So it saddens me to see them go. They used to own a beautiful and awesome shop called Blooming Bay, which had a wonderful inventory of crafts, garden plants and supplies and just outright cool stuff.

So, in preparation of moving away, they decided to have a rummage sale this weekend. And bless their hearts, they offered us first choice of some of the stuff prior to the sale to the public.

Here are some of the neat things we bought:

These two little bottles to put whatever I want in...they are sealed with those silver little corks on the top:

And....
This little cute steeple
candle holder:

In one of the houses we are renovating, I decided to do a blue theme. I already have some antique blue and white dishes to put on the walls, and some cobalt blue bottles.

This vase will be great in there too!:

And then I saw these two plates.
I HAD to have them for home.
Especially in light of my recent apple pie making....

I just loved these!:
These last few pictures came a little blurry, it is not your eyes!
I loved this little carafe with its matching glass topper:

See how it looks with the glass down?:

I can find somewhere in my renovated house for this cute carpet too!:

And I had to have this lamp!
(Ignore the dust and bad background, I store it in the house we are fixing up, so it is dusty and full of construction!):

And this little lady will be holding some garden flowers!:
See how wonderful her sale was?
How could I NOT get these things??

I live in a log home, for goodness sakes!...so I HAD to get these birch bark planters, right?:

And this mirror???:
(Again: ignore the background and mirror reflection, it is in our storage place!):

And last, but not least...the first thing I saw when I entered the sale was THIS:
I loved that table when it was in her shop.
And now????
It's MINE!
It has a drawer!:

And look at its top!!!

Everytime I see it, I will think of Sharon and Jerry.
A great sale, but bittersweet.
Because they are moving away....
But I know we will remain friends.
You know how you meet someone and immediately gel with them?
It's like that.
So, I better get my maps out and find out how to find them in the hills of North Carolina.
Because we will be packing up soon for a visit with them.

Thanks Sharon and Jerry for a great sale and for being our wonderful neighbors.
We are going to miss you something terrible!
