The Gift that Keeps on Giving...

Yes, time AGAIN for Weird News stories and MY COMMENTS on them....

******************************************************************

BERLIN (AP) — German police said an elderly man was so annoyed at hearing the same serenade over and over that he called authorities to report his neighbors — only to discover the culprit was a musical greeting card on his own windowsill.

Police said Tuesday the 82-year-old from Goslar in central Germany told officers he was sick of the music, which would come at irregular intervals and at all hours.

Upon further investigation, police found the musical greeting card on his windowsill, where occasional breezes opened the card just enough to play an irritating tune.

Police said the retiree was happy to find out his neighbors weren't trying to annoy him.

*****************************************************************

1. That is going to be ME, I just know it.

2. Ha Ha Ha BWAhahahaaaaaaaaaaaa.............

3. Remember this story the next time you murmur: "Those damn neighbors!~" because the very thing that you think they are doing to annoy you, might just NOT be them.

4. Brings a whole new meaning to: "Love thy neighbor as thy love yourself", doesn't it?

5. So, is he going to sue the greeting card company now?

6. I wonder who sent the card to him and I wonder if they found out that they gave the gift that "kept on giving"????

7. This guy needs a woman in his life. Not so that she could've prevented this...but just so she could make fun of him when this happened. (And for the rest of his life).

8. This is going to be my husband in about 20 years, I just know it.
Only he wouldn't report the neighbors.
He would suffer it but feel bad about the neighbors making his life so miserable.
But he would continue to be nice to the neighbors.
He'd probably still shovel them out of their driveway.
He's annoyingly nice like that.
(I know, I know, that is why I love him so much).
But dang...just ONCE, couldn't he REPORT neighbors that did him wrong?
The man is a Saint, I tell you.
And STOP saying: "He MUST BE, he married YOU, didn't he? (I heard you)!!

Great post, really funny. Your husband sounds like a keeper. I think we have all experienced something comparable to this at some time and blamed the wrong person. Have a good week.

That is really funny. I wonder if he hadn't called the police if he EVER would have figured it out.

I love this one. I think, in the back of my mind I actually heard someone else who didn't recognize a musical card and got mad. Giggle. I can see why you love your husband, they bring lots of laughs to ones life.

That was funny. I do something like that sometimes - get frustrated looking for a pen or pencil only to remember that I had stuck it into my hair for a quick updo :)

I knew you had a wonderful husband when we first met, no not because he married you but because you chose him, not to mention how cool he is to always help you get the pictures you want....perhaps you two were just meant to be.

Love ya........:-) Hugs

Poor old man - ha,ha! Kind of reminds me of Greg - he always thinks someone is breaking in the house and it's just the cat running around getting into stuff!

This is too funny! I guarentee this will be by my Hubby someday! He is always complaining about our neighbors.
Have a great day!

I have a little device called an annoy-a-tron. It doesn't make music, but it makes an irritating beeping sound at random intervals. I use it to do exactly what it's intended for. I hide it near my unsuspecting victim until they can't stand it anymore. It's one of my most prized possessions.

The Retired One said...

Shelley: Poor Greg! Although our cats were always mischeivious and would often get into REAL trouble, so it's a good thing that he hears them when they do. :0}

Sara: Yes, those dang neighbors. ha One lady across from us has a disaster of a yard...her kids bring broken cars, old boats and campers and leave them in her yard and it looks AWFUL...everyone complains about it, but there is no ordinances against it here. Now, she isn't even living there during the winter and we get to look at all that crap every day.

Ratty: You are a devil!!!!

That is so funny. It's something I can see my hubby doing twenty years from now too. I wonder what the music was?

The Retired One said...

SquirrelQueen: I wondered what the tune was too...and found it sooo funny!
