We drove right from Savannah to my daughter's house in Madeira Beach, Florida. We considered going down the east coast to Palm Beach Shores to see my elderly Aunt Elsie, but when we called her, she wasn't feeling well, and we did not want to disturb her by coming to visit and stressing her. We put the quickest route on our TOMTOM GPS, only to be directed into Orlando. BIG MISTAKE! There had been an accident and traffic was backed up for miles. It took us nearly 2 1/2 hours to go through the city and it was almost bumper to bumper. Then, that made us so late that we hit Tampa on their rush hour and it was also bumper to bumper due to some construction on one of the causeways.
Isn't it always the case that when you get close to the end of a trip...it seems like it takes forever to get there?
Anyway, the GPS got us to her front door about an hour before she got home from work. She had left a key for us, so we let ourselves in and awaited anxiously for that BIG HUG from her when she came in the door. (We haven't been together in person for over 7 months!) Sure felt good!!!!
We have been to the beach for two days now because the temperature finally warmed up to 78 to 80 degrees. Madeira Beach has several small little beaches along the coast so it isn't crowded and you can walk for miles down the shore.
For today's post, I am going to put some random Florida pictures for you below. I have some more of John's Pass which I will save for tomorrow's post. I have a lot of photos of the birds down here, because I think the birds are fantastic. Enjoy!~

Dude, these are fantastic photos! I especially love the wave photo! Seriously, that is the kind of thing you see in a calendar or a post card or something.

lol the "turkey duck" is called a Muscovey... they started migrating to our area a number of years back and we were like, "What sort of ugly ass duck is this thing??" They do a wierd hissing thing when you make 'em mad too :)

Kearsie: Thanks! I love my camera,I just got it at Xmas this year and it is very user friendly yet can do close-ups (which I love). The wave one did come out kinda neat...I have a few more too of just the waves. Winge...because of all the birds, right? Wing-ey thingeys.

The bird photos are great. I always like to see different kinds of birds. The one I like best though was the crashing waves. I don't remember seeing any pictures like that since I actually started paying attention to pictures.

Ratty: I will try and get some more crashing wave pictures. My camera has a feature to catch high speed action, but I haven't played with it much...so it is hard to catch waves without the photo blurring. I will see what I can do and try and post some more if I get good ones for you.
Dreamwalker: Thanks. Today is our last day at the beach. It is supposed to be close to 80 degrees,then it is going to drop into the 60's (and we are starting our journey back north on Monday, although we are only going an hour or so north and spending one more north at some relatives house for one night). Awesome pictures. I especially love the sunset ones but the birds are cute too. Oh...the crashing wave was gorgeous too.
