One day, when we went into the woods, it had just rained and the sun came out.
We were in a bunch of Tamarack pine trees and the branches looked alive with sparkle:
And there were droplets on the other pine tree needles:
A babbling brook in the midst of the colored leaves:
Because of a hard frost, many of the leaves had fallen off the trees while they were still green.
I saw this one on the ground, full of droplets, and I knew I had to capture it in a photo:
A little hidden waterfalls in the forest:
A splashing falls:
We hardly EVER see Cardinals here.
One day, I heard a bird calling outside of our house.
It sounded like our Blue Jays, only a little different.
I look out, and see THIS !!!:
He has been back a few times to our yard, but he has been VERY jumpy and by the time I get my camera out, he flies away.
My goal is to get him drunk or something and have my way with him.
I'll keep you posted on how that's working for me.
I found another gigantic tree mushroom and it reminded me of a plate:
This gorgeous moon was out in the middle of a sunny day.
I love day moons, don't you?:
Before I know it, we will be buried in snow again and I won't be able to tromp out in the woods as much to capture things, so I have been trying to get outside as much as possible in these last weeks of autumn to do so.

Beautiful series of photos here! The drops are very, very nice!
The pine tree needles, definitely my fave! That would look so awesome framed in your cabin home!
Love the cardinal..maybe you could spike a suet ball with Jack Daniels? That moon shot at the end looks more like a painting than a photo! Beautiful!
That first picture just knocked me out. I've tried to capture that same scene but it never looks like what I see, but this one does. Awesome, there I go again, like a broken record...
Rainfield: Thanks, so much!
Grannyann: Well, at least I am keeping you busy changing the scenes.
Brian: I heard the east coast is really getting hit hard with rain, I hope you aren't in the flooded areas!
Betsy: I have had black sunflower seeds out for some time, but they just came a few times so far...I am soooo hoping he returns...they are gorgeous birds!!
Susanne: I love droplets on any foliage or flowers, especially when nature provides them.
Insanity: thanks! My husband is making frames out of birch bark that are fantastic, so I will be putting some of my photos in them and we may sell them at some local craft shows and see what happens!!
Eva: That's an idea!! Then I can get my redheaded woodpecker drunk too and they can have a party. ha
Oh my gosh, what is with all these fantastic photos. You just don't stop. They are just amazing. That top one just blew me away and then you put in the water rushing by the different colored leaves. I think I need to move away from all these cornfields.
You've done it again! These are all so great it's hard to pick just one. The water drops on the pine needles. The little waterfalls. That leaf. The cardinal; I love cardinals! I like those big mushrooms too. And that moon is so clear. I can see the details of the smaller craters. Excellent!
I love the picture of your cardinal and the waterfall is pretty with the different colors underneath, like iron.
vickie
That moon is gorgeous
DJan: Thanks! All the trees were just lit up with moisture and sun. It was hard to do without blurring, as you can see!
L.D.: I remember the beautiful icestorms and sunsets out in Kansas when I lived out there for a year. I am sure you will be providing us with some fantastic photos of those, too!
Ratty: thanks! I sure wish that Cardinal would come back...he only came three times and for about 30 seconds each. ha
Vickie: I love all waterfalls, too. I have some coming of another waterfall we visited too. Stay tuned!
Sara: thanks! I was amazed on how clear the craters showed up on the day moon...sometimes I think at night, it is too bright to capture detail.
I love that second picture of the pine needles. That would make for a fantastic Christmas card.
So you had rain hey? I was wondering if it would ever stop raining. I am loving this weather we have been having lately. Making up for the stuff we had in October.
Have a great weekend!
WOW!! Your photos are incredible!! I trust you make your living with Photography!! If not, why not?? Definitely following you...I lived in Washington state as a child and your woodsy pics bring back such fond memories! I will be following you to join you in your nature walks.
DVM's Wife: I know..we are so lucky not to have snow yet here! But I am sure we will in a few weeks. I am hoping it will wait until after Thanksgiving because my daughter, husband and grandkids are traveling up for the holiday.
Donna B.: Wow, what a nice thing to say...I am not a professional photographer..I have just gotten into it over the last two years..but I aspire to do some things with my photos eventually.

Love love love the first picture! What an awesome shot! :)
Ashley: Thanks! It was hard because everything was so sparkly it blurred a bit...but when I saw the effect it had on the shot, I loved it.
I love this beautiful series of photos, the first two with the water drops are stunning. The babbling brook is so pretty. All are great shots.
SquirrelQueen: Thanks! I can't go in the woods now for more photos because it is deer hunting season here and I don't want to get accidently shot (or ruin some hunter's chance at a deer)..so I really MISS taking pictures out there!
