For those of you who have NOT read my blog post about an upcoming Pirate-themed girlfriend reunion, go back TWO posts....)
I can't believe the reunion has come and gone already!!!!
We had a fantastic time. My stomach hurts from laughing and I am filled with memories of a wonderful visit with my buddies.
We drank, we ate, we giggled, we reminisced, we posed for pictures, we dressed in costume, we marched down our street in costume (Oh Lord! Can't wait to hear from my neighbors!).
And here we are, in all our glory!:
I am wearing fake teeth, and a black wig. I am the one to the right of the pirate in the bright blue skull cap. Hopefully, I don't look ANYTHING like I do out of costume. HA!!I can't believe the reunion has come and gone already!!!!

I hope the picture didn't cut off my friend to the far right. She is wearing a mask and holding a parrot. She shows up on my computer, so hopefully she shows up on yours.
Can you tell we have a good time?
Can you tell we love each other?
Can you tell we are already waiting for the next 52 weekends to go by, so we can do this all over again?????
Any ideas for next year's theme????
We have already done the 70's (hippy) theme and an all-leopard pattern outfit theme.
I am open to anything.....so leave me a comment with ideas!
Because I have to torture them next year to come up with more costumes.
They keep getting better and better.
I mean, have you EVER seen better pirates?????

Ahoy! What a great group o' gals!
Next year, how 'bout a 1980's theme? Big shoulder pads, big hair, big everything!
Awesome!
Next year, Dr. Seuss characters. Oh yeah. That's a good one *patting self on back*.
Glad you had a great time! :)
ha. awesome pic. glad you had such a good time! yo ho yo ho, a pirates life for me!
With all those smiles...you guys really look more like pirate clowns! Just too nice to look mean.
I love it! I wish we could've seen the parade :)
I've never seen better pirates!
Fantastic costumes! And i see a lot of eye patches there! Such a fun idea!! I think I may have to borrow your idea for a group of my friends! Ideas for next years theme:
*Roaring 50's
*Colonial Times
*Marie Antoinette
*Favorite 80's sitcom star
*Favorite child cartoon character (Wilma Flinstone, etc.)
Can you tell I'm very enthused about this idea??? LOL! :-)
I was thinking about you all the other night and I suggest next year you have a Titanic party. Come dressed as you think you would have been dressed on that fateful night. We had a party once doing that and it was a blast. some came as fancy dressed dinner, some in pj's, some as deck hands etc. Glad you had fun. you all look terrific.
Wonderful pictures! So much fun!
Next year, how about coming dressed as your favorite Disney movie character.
Lynn: I thought about that...I think I will do it a few years from now, since we just did the 70's last year...but it would be a blast...need to go find my leg warmers now. ha
Insanity Kim: Hmmm...that may be a good one...only we would probably ALL come as a Cat in a Hat. ha
Brian: I was hoping some of them would come with a wooden leg apparatus...but nope. ha It was fun. I think I was saying Arrrhg in my sleep for a few nights after.
Wanda: Oh yeah. We were happy pirates, for sure. And the wine coolers didn't hurt either. ha
Catherine: They were great at getting in the spirit of the costumes this year! SO much fun!
Shelly: What is so funny is that I had an eye patch too for that picture...but it was up in my hair. I had taken it off to look at my camera settings for my husband and forgot to slide it back down. I like the favorite child's cartoon character idea too...lots of your ideas have me thinking...thanks!
Grannyann: I would have to dress as a lifeboat then. ha It is an idea I will ponder about! Everyone has been great at giving me ideas..this is such fun!
Sandy: another good idea! Thanks!
Boy, that looks like fun! I was just released from the hospital today, so I am way behind. You always have such a fun place to go!!!
This is a great group of fun loving women!! Are you the one with the blue head scarf? Since I have never seen anything except your blond hair, and you said you would have an eye patch (not that there aren't plenty), I figured that must be you.
What great fun! I think theme gatherings give us a way to express another side of ourselves. Thanks for the great picture.
Polly: I hope you are feeling better...been missing your lovely comments!
Whatwas: You are new! Please join onto my blog as a Follower..that would be great! I will stop by your blog later today. None of us feel as old as we are...thus the fun at the annual reunions. ha We joked that at 75 the costumes better get easier.
DJan: NO, that is not me. I am the one to the RIGHT of the one in the blue scarf. I have an eyepatch but had slid it to the right to show my husband some settings for my camera and forgot to slide it back for the photo. I have a black, long wig on.
I second the 80s sitcom stars. I would come as Alf.
It has to be BIKER GIRLS week-end must have been awesome peg
Oh what fun! I love this!!! It's the sort of thing I'd do...I'm just that crazy. Next year, do a Vampire theme...how great would that be???
Sandi
Kearsie: I will eventually get to the 80's....since we just did the 70's, I will wait a year or two, though.
Peg: great idea...it is on the list for choosing! (Got any black leather chaps???)
Sandi: I like that idea too.....they would come with cherry vodka, no doubt! ha
LOVE the pirates!!!
how about Wizard of Oz theme?
Sara: Another good idea! Boy, I am glad I have my Blogger friends out there to spark creativity! HA.
If you like the pirate thing, I always liked monster movie costumes, like the Wolfman and Dracula. That might be too much.
