Once upon a time,
we
went for a carriage ride in the forest
looking
for
enchantment.
I knew I was on the right track,
when
I
saw
THIS:
A heart-shaped mossy rock!:
And a lovely pair of Flag Iris beside a wishing pool:
I think this one granted me three wishes:
And remember the baby ferns I showed you a few blogposts back?
Well,
in this magical forest,
they were already grown up:
And the good luck
dragonfly
even paid me a visit:
We chatted a bit,
and then he said he had to fly off
Ater all, he had other people
to visit that day, too:
We ended our trip by selling our souls to the Devil.
Oh.
Wait a minute.
That wasn't the Devil.
Silly ME.
It was the Devil's Paintbrush!:
We agreed to go back again soon.
Because, as you know....
the enchantment doesn't end
in the forest.
EVER.

I'm enchanted...love the moss covered heart-shaped rock!
Beautiful pictures! I love your story too, I hope it was a happy ending ;)
The iris picture (the one with the water behind) is particularly lovely, Joan. But the mossy heart is beautiful, too. Oh, heck! They are ALL great. As usual. :-)
Brian: I loved that heartshaped rock too! Dragonflies are amazing, aren't they?
Wanda: me too! Some folks find heart shaped things all over the forest and put them in their blogs too.....I don't find too many so I loved catching this one.
Biana: It is always a happy ending out there in nature. ha
DJan: Thanks so much....nature gives these to me on a silver platter. Luckily!
I really like the trails along the North Shore at the different rest areas or state parks. The trail down off of Cascade Falls has scenes like these. Great shots.
Hi Joan, Love that 'heart' rock.... the moss covering it is gorgeous... All of your other photos are great also. I especially love the Fern photo--due to the lighting.
Love the Devil's Paintbrush.. What a gorgeous color.
Hugs,
Betsy
I think this is my favorite set of photos!

I envy you your outdoor time! Did I already say that once recently??? Very enchanting!
I just posted a link to your site on Pioneer Woman's Ree Drummonds photo contest. A commenter (#3) stated she wished there was a photo contest for amateurs. Hope she finds you and joins in the fun this month.
