I took a ton of autumn photos...and even when I did, whenever fall is over I always feel
like the time was too short and that I didn't take enough.
The wind and the rain did blow down our colorful leaves really fast this year, so I was
grateful for any I did get.
A lot of the waterfalls were very, very low in the fall due to no rain in our area.
But sometimes I like them better because you can see all the rocks under the falls
that you normally can't see when the water is high:
I love the texture that black and white photography
offers us....
especially with a mushroom thrown in, just for fun!:
Small rapids with colorful reflections:
A dried up pond full of glorious stumps! Art forms!!:
I loved the golds and oranges reflected in the water of this waterfall on a sunny day!:
A moment in time!:
I go to this exact spot every fall and spring and summer to take a picture of the bend in the river.
I must go there in winter and complete my "seasons" set!:
The passage of time is no more evident
than
in the changing seasons.

Hi Joan,
You are a wonderful ambassador for the UP...your beautiful photos always make me want to visit. Wishing you a happy 2012!
i like that last one, and think you should be sure to get all 4 seasons. i love those rocks and water and your stumps look very much like our cypress stumps here.
The color reflected in the water is amazing. Also, the mushroom resembles a seashell. Great shots, again!
just absolutely beautiful, as always!
All beautiful, but I love the way the water is captured flowing over the rocks. Lovely.
Fall is gorgeous in your part of the world. It's a pity it didn't last long.
I like that you take pictures of things that have interesting textures or shapes, not just the usual "beautiful" things. Thanks.
I'm looking forward to seeing your 'seasons' set from that spot, it is gorgeous. Autumn always seems to go by so fast but you got some great shots Joan.
These were nice to see - I love Autumn and you do it justice w/ your camera.
P.S. Do you have any snow? We decided to reschedule our dog sledding to sometime in february.
Hugs from lower Michigan,
Shelley
