I am still behind in posting some of my spring photos..
but
that's ok...
If you are sitting in sweltering summer heat,
maybe these will bring you back
to the cool breezes of spring in your mind.
One of the things I love most
is watching the forest floor
spring alive with bright green growth and wildflowers/
I love to see the ferns come alive again
making a fresh green carpet:
And cool, twisty, unfurling fiddleheads:
Some orange garden tulips:
And of course, more trilliums~!!!:
and Marsh Marigolds, otherwise known as "cowslips":
We came across two fields FULL of them...
yellow sunshine plants everywhere!:
More spring photos are still to come on my blog,
and then we will finally get some summer ones posted, too!
oo love the color of the tulips...ever eat a fiddle head?
ReplyDeleteStunningly beautiful photographs. I have often passed ferns in this stage of development and thought what beautiful photographs they would make. You have gone that stage further and actually captured the beautiful photograph.
ReplyDeleteLOVE the fiddleheads and have never heard them called that, i call them curly cue new growth. anyway i love them. ferns are a favorite too and a whole lot of them would be wondrous. my favorite of all is the field of yellow flowers. WOW i would love to see them, we don't get fields with this many here in the heat we get them but they are not thick like these.
ReplyDeleteSo lovely!! Got a kick out of those fiddleheads. I love ferns--all kinds of ferns. A little spring time memory is a good thing. You could post some of these again in the winter, actually. ;)
ReplyDeleteBeautiful photos !
ReplyDeleteDo you eat fiddleheads? I used to as a child, but not so much now.
ReplyDeleteI feel the coolness of the forest.Beautiful scenes.
ReplyDeleteWell, fiddle-dee-dee, never heard of fiddleheads! But loved the close-ups of them!
ReplyDeleteLovely greens. Beautiful shots. Cheers from S.E. Ontario Cottage Country!
ReplyDeleteI absolutely LOVE marsh marigolds. I once tried to transplant one from my Mom's to my backyard along the creek, but the neighbor's dog dug them up and I've never tried again.
ReplyDeleteThat is surely on my bucket list,
xoxo
The orange of the tulips is my fav.
ReplyDeleteGorgeous spring shots, Joan... Seems like Spring just came and went so quickly this year...
ReplyDeleteLove the ferns... We noticed when we were in the Colorado Rockies --alot of the new growth around (after the winter snows had melted)... So neat to see that new growth. I'll do a blog on it soon.
Hugs,
Betsy
Joan, I love the photos; trilium is one of my favorite wild flowers...and you talked of spring; gosh, I can't even remember spring it has been so long ago. We began to get summer temps in May so perhaps we didn't really have spring!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful pictures.
ReplyDeleteAnn
I have never seen fiddleheads before, or heard of them for that matter, they are cool looking...
