Autumn Carp River Gardens: Part Two

As promised, I am posting today the second half of some of the photos I took this week at the Carp River Botanical Gardens. The grounds are breathtaking, set in a valley of pines. The Master Gardener has set up three waterfalls and several flower beds which bloom continually from May to October.

Here is one of the lovely waterfalls you can see at the Gardens:

Loved this peach colored Dahlia!:

And, there isn't a Lily yet that I don't love:

Isn't this color the epitomy of Autumn?:

I have never seen this variety before..see the light pink outside and dark pink folded in the petals? It was amazing!:

Foxglove!: (Can't wait to plant the seeds I got from fellow blogger Tatyana to see if they come up in my garden next year!):

What a rose!:

More shots of his freckled lilies.... I took several of them!:

I just missed a bee in these!:

I thought of fireworks everytime I saw one of his two-toned dahlias!:

I had to end the post with this super closeup of the freckled lily!

Can you smell it???

It was heavenly!:

Have a wonderful Labor Day weekend everyone!!

Enjoy and savor one of the last wonderful weekends of summer

and

celebrate the beginning of Autumn!

  2. You have some really impressive pictures in you blog today. That waterfall doesn't look real as if someone had set those ledges up to make that water fall like that. Great shots!!!!

Brian: Yes, when you walk through his gardens, you can hear birds chirping, hummingbirds buzzing and the waterfalls. It is a wonderful treat for your senses.

Eva: What a sweet thing to say!

DJan: Of course, when I go there, I have to buy more plants for my garden. ha

  8. Beautiful pictures. I don't think I've ever seen a lily I didn't love either, and I'd love to find a pink one like the first one you show. The Cosmos looks like Seashell cosmos I've never grown them, but I do have seeds for next year. I love the waterfall, wish I could have one like that in my yard.

  13. I'm normally not a flower person, but I have enjoyed this garden and all that you have shown us. I know you have wonderful plants and flowers around your home too...I just don't have any luck with OUTSIDE plants, so it isn't that I don't enjoy them...I just don't cultivate them well!

  15. Wanda: I think the three waterfalls he put in his beautiful garden just makes it perfect. He has benches about so you can just sit and enjoy the beauty.

Bernie: I am so glad you enjoyed them! Are you having the warm temps. we are having in Upper Michigan? It has been the most beautiful week of high70's and sunny every day. I have been savoring it and have been outside most of every day as much as possible!

Cathy: I know how you feel. I started with "fool proof" field lilies and spring bulbs like tulips and daffodils..you can't kill them! ha But maybe where you are, the deer would eat them?

Cathy M: Thanks so much. It really is an awesome place to visit if you ever make it to the U.P.!!

Jientje: I loved the waterfall when I was there too...even more than the flowers, which is a passion of mine.

Far Side: I love it every time I go. He times the blooming so that it is in constant change with different flowers blooming all the time. I don't know how he does it.
