Today...
a potpourri of images from Nature.
A "just right" landing:
Unknown wildflower:
Looking down the log at Mr. Turtle:
Mama and babies:
A young Merganser duck:
Still unaware that I was taking his photo:
Butterfly beauty:
Moth or butterfly? I think butterfly because of the shape of its antennae?:
Love the "eyes" on his wings...
I love it when I catch them walking along a road rather than flying...
maybe they get tired too?:
But I never tire
of seeing them in the woods...
Mother Nature provides us the best show in town, all the time!!!
Go out and see it whenever you can.
Beautiful critters.
ReplyDeletegreat photographs again.
Costas
you are right, God's creations are the best show in town and FREE, well, most of them are unless we pay to go in a garden somewhere. but i prefer the wild nature over mans gardens planted in perfect harmony. i love your walks, keep posting them. the first shot made me smile, looks like he is about to slide down a butterfly sliding board. like the walking one, his wings are beautiful.
ReplyDeleteThanks for sharing these beauties.

ReplyDeleteSwweet type of insects. Did you know that butterflies USE to be called flutter-bys??
ReplyDeleteGreat photos!! Love the baby ducklings with their mom. And of course I like that turtle photo!! The butterflies are so pretty.
ReplyDeleteHi Joan!
ReplyDeleteAll beautiful pics. In about a amonth we're taking a roadie up to Pismo Beach where the Monarchs stop on their migration. We timed the trip to be there when they are! I hope they don't take a detour.
yes, nature always really have the best show in town! I wonder how you were able to get that turtle lengthen its neck like that! Butterflies really sip the ground to get minerals and salts, that's why some gardens make 'butterfly puddles' for them to come. Sometimes they alight on our salty arms too for some taste, lol.
ReplyDeleteSuperb pictures. The white wildflower is Hemlock. We call it cow parsley but I believe the two are separate wildflowers. Hemlock grows in abundance here in the UK.
ReplyDeleteSo many beautiful little things, I love your shot of the Merganser. He is so cute.
ReplyDeleteThose butterflies are beautiful. I'm pretty sure that one is a butterfly. Your mystery flower reminds me of a Water Hemlock but I'm not positive.
Great collection. I really enjoyed them all.
