As always, I am running behind in "current" photos to
post for you.
Today I still have some early summer photos
to share...(even though it is now early autumn!)
Some are of some colorful captures
and
some are of some black and white ones.
I find that many times if you check your photos also in
black and white,
they can take on even more drama and loveliness
than in color.
See what you think on the ones inside this post....
Just a little moth I saw on an unknown white wildflower in the woods:
A turtle in the middle of a woods road.
(For the Love of God, please tell me I am not the ONLY person that makes her hubby
STOP the truck to take pictures of a turtle in the middle of the road?!):
Now...
for some black and white shots!:
A dandelion puff:
It was stuck in some leaves in my garden and the sun was hitting it just right...
I could NOT
not take this shot...right??:
Roots in the woods...
I loved how the black and white really shows off the wood's texture:
Would somebody PLEASE connect me with a support group
that helps my dandelion puff addiction???
"Hi. My name is Joan and I'm addicted to Dandelion puff photography."
"Welcome Joan".....
I just want to take my picnic basket and climb into that little tree cavern
and perhaps meet up with Alice in Wonderland or something....
O.K.
Okay...
back to summer color:
A little brook in the woods:
While walking through the woods on a path, I spied these shadows of the ferns
and just knew I had to take a shot:
For my grand finale today,
My "most colorful" shot:
Not only do I adore poppies,
but I fell in love with their tissue petals
and their black "granola" centers:

they are all gorgeous, my favorite is the fern shadows, love that one. and YES I would stop in the middle of the road to take a turtle shot or anything else I spied. I love the idea of a support group, but we need to include me with addiction to anything i see, including today's post of a locust shell. LOL
Beuatiful fantastic photos !
joan, you brought tears to my eyes with those puff photos. truly did. spectacular perfection...
fyi, that moth is actually a skipper butterfly. they're wonderful little creatures. :)
Always better to have too many photos than too few! Oh, and I make my husband stop for basically any kind of animal! :)
I see what you mean about the black and white... the picture of the tree is marvellous... the wood looks so fibrous and the dandelion puff is like stars. I MUST experiment.
I am a fellow member in the turtle and dandelion puff club. These were wonderful!
Pretty .. and its sad to see summer winding down
Isn't it funny how when you look at anything (even when you aren't carrying a camera) you think how you would capture it in a photo? Some of your photos didn't show up for me (didn't get to see the turtle for one), but the ones I saw are beautiful!
great shots, again!
Love your blog, fellow retired one. I've just starting blogging. Won't you stop by Over the Hill and 'Round the Bend and say "hi"?
My favourites to day are the photos of the dandelion seed heads.
I have never seen a poppy captured so beautifully. Lovely shots.
I couldn't possibly pick a favorite out of these magnificent photos. I love the ones you picked for the black and white--and it does add something instead of subtract. Love dandelion puffs and the shots you got were amazing. The ferns, the turtle, the trees, the moth/butterfly, and the crinkly poppy...wow! Can hardly wait to see the entries for the contest. :)
Lovely shots.. I especially love the fern shadows and mr. turtle. As for your dandelion puff addiction, it's a seedy lifestyle but somebody has to live it. And I'm glad it's you.. those b&w pics are marvelous.
If you find a dandelion addiction club, let me know if they're nationwide. I need to join. ; ) Gorgeous!
Each of these is spectacular. The B and W is really stunning, especially on the dandelion puff.
stunning black and whites, really....be still my heart!!
my husband is an expert at "spinning" the car around. almost everyday, we are so lucky to have such amazing men!!!
I love the turtle and the skipper on the little flowers. The B/W photos are all stunning and yes, dandelion puffs are a serious addiction.
The dandelion shots are spectacular in B&W! You have such a great eye, I LOVE LOVE love the fern shadow shot!
Wow! That dandy in B/W is fantastic.
Very beautiful artworks you got there! I just thought of something, why turtles always look sad!
Your photos teach me how to look at the world and find more beauty in it. Thank you.
