Although I could post about a hundred more
sunset pictures,
I won't
because they will all begin to look alike to you...
and I would never do that to the glorious
sunsets we saw....
I may sneak a few in a few posts in the future...
but for now,
I am going to end the latest Florida trip pictures series
with a variety of random photos
I took there.
I always watch the skies above the ocean, as the clouds can form and clear quickly.
On this day, it was a portrait of wisps:
On a really windy day,
we caught this "hotdogger" windsurfing.
I liked the effect when I cropped it to get him in closer and got the blurry background
of the city behind him:
At certain times of the day, the light just cooperates with a photographer
in a delightful way.
We went for a walk and found these white flowers on a bush, with the light just hitting them
in a glorious way:
A seagull Mama and her babies:
The tide coming in and splashing on the sea wall:
The seats are just waiting for you to arrive.....do you hear them calling you?:
Aaaargh!!...the pirate ship at St. John's Pass:
A moody sky over the sea....
We were at a beach bar, having a great time..and spotted this wheelchair...
we introduced ourselves to the man in the wheelchair and told him we loved his sense of humor
and asked if we could photograph what was written on the back of his chair...
he said it would be his pleasure and said "You're only taking ONE picture?" when I was done...
Loved him!
and
his humor:
I love that about trips...
they are adventures.
You never know what kind of beauty you may see...
whether it be birds, the sunsets,
or
beautiful people with awesome humor!
(And, you can BET I will be there to get it all on camera!)
some fun pics today....like the attitude of the guy in the chair...of course the brilliant skies tak the cake...from the wispy clouds to the brilliant oranges...oh, florida...
ReplyDeleteWonderful pictures, as usual. You have prettier seagulls down in FL than we do here. And yes, that sign is priceless!
ReplyDeleteBrian: yes, he was a fun guy! I can wait a little while to go back down and visit, though. They are getting sizzlng high 90F degrees with a LOT of humidity now.
ReplyDeleteDJan: I LOVE the seagulls down there!
Wow! What photos! The moody sky over moody seas was especially breath-taking!
ReplyDeleteLoved all these pictures! Your bird people will let you know what those birds are but I am pretty sure they are not gulls. The sea wall is my favorite! I can feel the movement of the water in so many of these shots. Wonderful! Do we really have to leave Florida so soon? Can't you take us back there just one more time?
ReplyDeleteYour back on Reader....yay!
ReplyDeleteLove the photos Joan, really liked the flower in shades of white.
What a wonderful man you met in the wheel chair, I love his attitude and his sense of humor.
Have a great weekend....:-)Hugs
Tried to post earlier... but this
ReplyDeleteold Florida weather did not
cooperate and lost internet for
a while.... that's Florida for ya.
81° at 6 am...... 99° at 2 pm ...
after the storm at 6 pm it was 77°.
You photos are wonderful.
Come on back and take some more.
Beautiful photos as usual..the guy in the wheelchair has a great attitude. I like people with a sense of humor! :)
ReplyDeleteNice photos Joan. I like cloud formations and the lighting on the white flower is great! I agree about trips being an adventure. And of course it's better with a camera!
ReplyDeletePictures of sunset may look alike, but they actually tell different stories, in different days and places.
ReplyDeleteBossy: Don't worry, I will be back down visiting my daughter either this fall or this coming winter and there will be plenty more photos then. ha
ReplyDeleteEva: Thanks!
Bernie: I wonder why I keep disappearing from your reader? I am posting every other day now, so if you don't see me on a regular basis must type in my blogspot address and I will be here. :0}
Faye: thanks so much..I will be back down to visit my daughter about two times a year now so I will take photos everytime I go! It was in the 90's and very humid even in the U.P. of Michigan yesterday too!
FarSide: I do too!!!
Mike: For sure Mike! If I didn't take my camera with me, I'd feel naked.
Rainfield: Yes they sure do!
So good to hear the story of the man in the wheelchair sharing his sense of humor. Bless him. The picture of the flower is beautiful. I wouldn't have known it was a white flower.
ReplyDeleteFirst photo is amazing. Can't stop staring at it. prettyyyy
ReplyDeleteI really like the picture of the wind surfer. I don't usually like any pictures with people in them, but you got this one just right. It stands out.
ReplyDeleteYes. Florida is paradise...
ReplyDeleteThe colors of the flower.
A feeling of throbbing pulse of the sea.
All shines.
The splendid world!!
Thank you.
ruma
The 'hotdogger' photo is fabulous!
ReplyDeleteHow I'd love to go to Florida again. Such wonderful photos.
ReplyDeleteThe guy on the water sure is daring! Don't believe I've ever seen a Gull like that before. Interesting. Wonderful shot of the sun peeking out from behind the clouds!
Technobabe: Thanks..I loved that guy, he was delightful!
ReplyDeleteBiana: Awwwww, how nice of you to say! I am so glad.
Ratty: Thanks! He looked my way when he saw my camera and nodded when he was closer and then sailed further out and really started some "hotdogging" so I knew he liked that I was taking his photo. LOL
Ruma: Thanks so much...I am glad you liked the photos!
Eternally: You can thank the Hotdogger, he nodded when he was closer when he saw the camera and the started the tricks further out so I knew he was "performing" for the lens. ha
New England: thanks!! I have been ooo-ing and awwww-ing over your last few posts of photos, too...they have been FABULOUS!!! You need to find a flower and submit it into my June photo contest!!! PLEEEZ??????
Another great group of photos...
ReplyDeleteI like the fact that you will photograph anything. To me, that is what makes it all fun..
Pat: Thanks! Yes, you are right..I find beauty in the strangest things and snap away...that is the best thing about photography to me, is to see what everyone catches in their lens--then we get to see the beauty they saw in objects that we'd never seen before...right?
ReplyDeleteSeeing your birds makes me sad to think of the birds that are getting oil all over them. Hope this will be over soon.
ReplyDeleteAnn: I know...it saddens me so much! Those birds there are so gorgeous.
ReplyDeleteLove the moody sky! The hotdogger is fun, that is a great shot. I have never seen a sea gull in those colors, she is really cool looking.
ReplyDeleteThe guy in the chair sounds like he had a great sense of humor, the sign is really funny.
