More Local Police Reports!!!

Yes, it's time again for more Local Police Reports!!!!
along with MY COMMENTS in bold italics.

1. I think she might have lost her way from New York City. And I bet her feet in those sandals are pretty cold up here in the frozen tundra.

2. That must have been SOME party. I am so jealous.

3. What? Walking in the turn lane? The nerve! Bring me your tired, your hungry, your huddled masses, but don't have them in the turn lane, Dude.

4. This was in January, not in October near Halloween. I wonder if this person worked at one of those singing telegram places and got disoriented then?

5. Frankly, if I was going to dress in costume to get noticed, I think I would have picked Wonder Woman or something other than the Statue of Liberty. Because, the SOL costume is pretty dowdy, really. Wonder woman would have at least had pointy boobs and a shiny belt, for cryin' out loud. Sure, it would have been colder with more skin showing, but hey, she wears boots anyway!

6. Wonder if her arm got sore from holding up the torch?

7. Wonder if that is why the person reporting her got mad. It was a turn lane. The costumed-one should have put her hand to signal turning right or left and not left it in the upward position to hold the torch. Yeah, that's it....

8. Was the torch lit? (I bet SHE was!)

9. Where is the sense of humor of the person that reported her? I suppose she would report Ben Franklin or George Washington if they had been in costume in the turn lane too. I bet she calls the police on that guy waving you in to Little Caesar's for pizza too. (By the way, I hope they pay those poor suckers a LOT).

10. By the way..did you also read the one about the cat in the trap with white around his eyes? WTF? What is the deal with reporting the white around his eyes? Isn' t it bad enough he was in the trap? Sure hope the trap wasn't near the turning lane....

  1. We have State of Liberty types around here, too, and I finally figured out they are shills to bring you into some income tax company. I don't think this lady will keep her job long running around in the street, do you? Great commentary!

  2. She really gets around. I saw her dancing hip hop here the other day. Anything to stay warm I guess!

  3. lol I wish our paper had these sorts of things! It's highly likely they work for Liberty Tax Services... we have them all over the place around here, and they all have people in Statue of Liberty costumes walking around out front. One guy was on the corner the other day dancing like a fiend to no music. I suppose you try to make the job fun in whatever way you can!

  4. Eva: It takes a hooter to know a hooter. ha (Not the restaurant kind).

    DJan: I have seen those ones for the Liberty tax company, but I think this one was not those solicitors. Funny, though!

    Ramblin: HA! Hip Hop!

    VaBookworm: yes, we have the Liberty tax people here,too, but I think this is someone else that was on our bypass...I think I know where this took place and it is no where near a business! Oh well, I guess she got noticed anyway! Maybe she should apply for a JOB there.ha

  6. I love these crazy things, Joan. Guess there's not much police news to report, huh????? ha... I used to laugh at my hometown paper--because it would put in there things like "Mrs. Jones visited Miss Julie on Friday." Silly stuff like that!!!!

    I did read the one about the CAT....

    Hugs,
    Betsy

  8. Good grief, we have Liberty Tax down here in Virginia, too! I ran into one of those Statue people (interesting--a black man taking on the persona of Lady Liberty)the other day. I think he was on his lunch break. "Does it cheer you up to wear that costume?" I inquired. "Oh, I'm always cheerful," he replied. He is either a gentle and profound man (possible!) or he is high on something.

  11. hahaha! I like the Editor's note, too, reassuring us all that these incidents "may have proven to be unfounded once police investigated." Like we were all concerned whether the cat might not have had white around its eyes after all.

  12. Brian: Accountants? With senses of humor???? That's a new concept for me. :-}

    Betsy: I know! Where my husband is from, it is even a smaller town, and wow, they put in the local cribbage league scores as big time news!

    Kearsie: Whew. I got outta that one without a po-po record. ha

    Sharon: I love optomists, don't you??? They are the sunshine of a gloomy day!

    Bernie: Well if you weren't human, you'd be an angel. Wait, you ARE an angel already!

    Fran: Your arm is gonna get tired from holding that torch, Girl!

    Lesley: Even the police have an alibi,right? ha

  13. I was going to say that I know that Statue Of Liberty. It's from some new tax service company. but after reading a few of the other comments I see that I'm not the only one who has seen this. This is funny. I don't think I'd trust a tax company that does things in such a tacky way.

  14. Ratty: Everybody is seeing those Statues of Liberty tax people...good grief! Oh well,the marketing must be working though for them.

  15. LMAO! But I like the first one listed "Be on the lookout for someone driving reckless" oh the calls they must have gotten!!!!!

  16. Brittany: yeah...they'd have been better off to say be on the lookout for safe drivers. :-}
