The Photography Potpourri Continues....

Even though we have lost all of our colored leaves in the U.P. of Michigan, there is still beauty all around us.

Even though it snowed already, it has melted again....

So here are some woods' scenes that I have captured over the last couple of weeks for you.

A double waterfall:

This mushroom reminded me of a crocodile's snout!:

I had to crawl through a little bit of woods to get to this little hidden waterfalls.
But it was worth it:

This is the same waterfalls taken right where it spills over the edge of the rocks.
It had been raining all day, and when I got there, the sun broke out:

A cute little Purple Finch:

He decided to stop by our house for a snack:

And the Grosbeaks are coming through too.
I love the black, white and yellow of their backs:

A babbling brook on a shimmering, sunny day:

King Lake one late afternoon on a sunny day:

This spot is bone dry in the summer.
But in the spring and fall, the river flows down amongst the many rocks
on the way to Craig Lake:

I hope you all had a fantastic weekend!

  13. One of these times you're going to have to do a whole series of pictures on the "ski-boys" for my Don, who misses them so much. Those Grosbeaks were his favorite at the winter feeders.

  14. The photo of the tree fungus "crocodile's snout" also reminds me of a huge mountain ledge.

  18. Grannyann: You are welcome! Thanks for coming every day to the blog and leaving such nice compliments!

Catherine: I love looking at others' blogs too when they show the birds, because we see varieties that aren't here. I just recently started birdwatching, and we really like it.

Sandi: Thanks for sending them back our way all healthy and plump. ha

Betsy: It would be great if you could come up for a visit. It is full of nature for you...falls, lakes, streams, Lake Superior...you would love it.

Sara: You are so encouraging for me to keep taking photos! thanks!

SouthernLady: I hope you have a good week, too. Thanks!

Sue: I will try and post some more photos of them for you and him..they don't stay around long in the winter here, so I will try and catch them again this week at the feeders for you! :-) I got your seeds yesterday...thanks so MUCH. Yours will be coming your way this week. My Hollyhocks didn't produce many seeds this fall, don't know why. The seed pods where kind of hard and immature when the stalks blew over.

Wanda: Yes, I think I can see that in the mushroom! They are such fun, aren't they? You can imagine all kinds of shapes in them!

Lesley: Thanks! Yes, it was nice to see that ledge with 2 falls!

Gaston: Waterfalls aren't such a bad downfall, are they? They do refresh one's spirit when you are there!
