This was a river in the middle of the woods, all ablaze with color:
And one of my favorite things to photograph.
A desolate road in the fall, just waiting for you to go down it to explore:
Another bend in a colorful stream:
Rocky bluffs full of color:
We stumbled upon this abandoned cabin stuck amongst the leaves.
It made me wonder who used it.
Maybe a deer camp for all those hopeful hunters.
If only it could talk!:
Many of the days we went exploring, we had autumn showers.
But not to mind.
I still got out and found something to photograph of interest!:
Another road to explore!:
And more streams to dream by:
On this day, we didn't find any ducks on the lake.
But we were blessed with color!:
One last shot of the abandoned cabin in the colorful forest:
I would have gone inside the cabin to explore.
But, my law-abiding husband (dang him!) wouldn't let me.
Thank Goodness ONE of us is thinking clearly.
Otherwise, I might be posting this from jail.
:-}
ha. glad you are not posting from jail. the colors in these are amazing. the ones with the roads are so inviting...i think i would have followed...
ReplyDeleteAutumn is over with WAY too fast...
ReplyDeleteYour photos are spectacular. One of these days, I'll have to dig out my U.P. photos and post em.
Your photos always leave me in AWE!
ReplyDeleteBrian: Oh...we did go down those roads. I just love riding in the woods down those kind of roads. You never know what you will see around the corner!
ReplyDeleteSue: Yes, you will have to post your U.P. photos..I would love to see them. Make sure you let me know when you post them, ok?
Eva: So did your trip photos of the scenes. (Not so much the restaurants..those only made me hungry. ha)..but those MOUNTAINS and scenes on your trip were awesome!
BEAUTIFUL! We have mostly yellow leaves - I love the vibrant reds in your forests, Joan.
ReplyDeleteAbsolutely stunning pictures! Your hubby must love this hobby of yours, too!
ReplyDeleteThose pics are breath taking. You did it again!!!
ReplyDeleteHow great it is if you are able to post this beautiful post from the jail. It will become another headline.
ReplyDeleteLynn: Yes, the reds and the oranges are my top favorites in the fall here.
ReplyDeleteWendytb: He used to tease me about wanting to stop and take pictures so often when we were out in the woods, but now he points things out that might make interesting shots. ha
Grannyann: thanks so much..but nature was the winner of that show!
Rainfield: Ok, funny one!
I should know what to expect by now, but your photos still surprise me with their beauty.
ReplyDeleteOh what a beautiful sight. You are having some wonderful fall days. I think the water scenes are magical. You are such a professional photographer. I really admire these photos. Thanks for sharing your work.
ReplyDeleteThank heaven I don't have to pick a favorite they are all so beautiful, now I don't feel like I missed Fall at all as I could see and even smell those beautiful trees, brooks and crisp air. Another amazing post. Luv ya...Hugs
ReplyDeleteJust breathtaking!!! Love the colors of autumn, stirred into the peaceful trails in the woods.
ReplyDeleteGreat fall photos. I would have gone into the cabin. I would have told the cops I thought it was a cave. Then you could have done a post about the police report. :D
ReplyDeleteJust found your blog and am absolutely amazed! Your photography is simply beautiful. I love the fall photos. We don't have the color variations in Western Oklahoma that you do up in your part of the country. My dream vacation is to go "north" to see the fall foliage with my hubby. Some day.....
ReplyDeleteI will be checking in regularly.
Stunning pictures. The colours of autumn are always fun. We hardly get any of that here.
ReplyDeleteWhat beautiful colors in your area. I love the winding road and stream.
ReplyDeleteHey, maybe you will show up in the Police Reports! "Woman breaking into cabin holding gun. Or camera. Or something." haha
ReplyDeleteWonderful pictures!!
Wanda: What a sweet compliment. Wow, you made my day! Thanks, Wanda.
ReplyDeleteL.D.: Thanks for calling my work magical and professional. Wow, you all make me feel SOOOO good about continuing to pursue my photography hobby. Thanks for continuing to come to my blog so often and leaving me comments, it really means a lot.
Bernie: yes, crisp, fall air is the best, isn't it? Thanks for coming almost every day to tell me you enjoy them. Many times I take a photo and think of you, Bernie, hoping you like them.
Boomer: What a nice way to describe the photos..."stirred in". I like that!
Ratty: Hahahaaaa...yes, I could have starred in my OWN police report..now why didn't I think of that? Believe me, if my hubby hadn't been with me, I would've gone inside and probably taken pictures INSIDE too. ha
Steppinthru: Thanks so much for stopping by and for leaving such a nice review/comment about my blog! It is always so nice to get a new reader...I think you already joined on as a Follower, right? If so, thanks SO much!!! I look forward to your comments and will check to see if you have a blog, too!
Loree: Thanks...I would really miss our colorful autumns if we didn't get it here...although some years they can be a lot duller in hue. This year they were brilliant for about two weeks and then we got a very hard frost and snow twice and it literally killed the color. They almost turned all brown and got very crisp and fell off like rain.
Cathy M: Thanks so much! I also love the winding roads in color, almost as much as the still lakes that reflect the color. It is so striking in person that it is almost too hard to capture on camera.
Lesley: Yes, Ratty (see his comment above) also told me I missed an opportunity to create my OWN police report. Dang. I didn't think fast enough. ha I would have been holding my camera AND my breath. hahahaaa
Gorgeous photos! I love the river bend and road ones especially. The fall color there is just beautiful!
ReplyDeleteI wonder if they would allow internet access in jail?! The color is just beautiful!! Love the roads and the streams...
ReplyDeleteLOVE the abandoned cabin. What an awesome find! :)
ReplyDeleteBest autumn photos of the year! And I would've egged you on to go in that cabin! Of course I would have gone too! :-)
ReplyDeleteCatherine: Thanks so much. Unfortunately, since those pictures many of the leaves froze and turned brown and have been blown off!
ReplyDeleteDarla: Boy, it really WOULD be jail if I couldn't blog. ha Thanks for the nice comments on my photos. I love being out there this time of year.
Ashley: Thanks. I love abandoned buildings of all kinds. There is all that history there, just decaying. I always wonder what they have to tell us...
Shelley: Of the YEAR! Wow, that was a nice compliment!
ReplyDeleteI KNOW you would have gone inside with me. Darn those common sense husbands. ha
Wonderful Fall color..they are all beautiful:)
ReplyDeleteFar Side: Thanks so much. It was beautiful on the days we went out there to capture the colors, even on the rainy days.
ReplyDeleteJust so breathtakingly beautiful !
ReplyDeleteThe colors are so vibrant, we are just getting the changes here in Tennessee.
Your photography is spectacular.
Thanks for sharing
Jo
The colors are so beautiful and so many great places to explore. I would have had to go inside the cabin so I guess we could have shared a jail cell.
ReplyDeleteYour photos just get better and better.
Judy
We NEVER EVER EVER get stunning colors like you do!! Thes took my breath away, superwonderfulgorgeousoutstandingand what not!!!!
ReplyDeleteBrit: What a sweet compliment on my photography, thanks so much.
ReplyDeleteSquirrelQueen: Thanks! I think I would have lots of company in jail as many of my Followers left comments saying they would've gone inside with me too. ha
Jientje: Thanks so much...that means so much coming from such a wonderful photographer as YOU!!
For dang real, woman, you need to be making calendars and selling them. People will pay for your photos. Seriously.
ReplyDeleteKearsie: I have thought about calendars..I will look into that this winter for 2011 calendars with themes...thanks!
