I went to blog three times this week,
and
Blogger wouldn't load my photos!
Finally,
I get a message that says unless I PURCHASE
more memory for photos,
I can no longer post photos!
What the heck??
Do any others of you (that post a lot of photos) purchase memory for photos for your blog?
I did it once a year for two years for about $5.00, my credit card got misused by someone other than me, so my credit card number got changed...
and then when we were on vacation they tried to automatically renew it again, couldn't because
the credit card was denied,
and now
they want to charge me alot MORE and charge me EVERY MONTH instead of yearly...
I am highly disgusted...
am thinking of changing my blog to another FREE site..
So what say you, my Blogger Friends/??
Are you on another blog site that does NOT charge to load
unlimited photography on your site?
IF so,
PLEASE leave me a comment as to where to set up a new blog
and how you like it???
I have always been happy with this site until NOW>
HELP!!!????
I do buy $5 a year space to keep the photos available for the blog. One of my secrets is that I edit my photos as most people do, but then I save mine in a small size. For example I resize them so one dimension is always five inches. That way i am not taking up so much space in the storage. I have the original photo in the normal size saved on my computer so my storage space is more efficient with the smaller pictures in picasa. A full sized, high resolution photo takes a lot of memory.
ReplyDeleteI have been blogging for three years and post a lot of photos I have two blogs and never had them say or do this to me ! It is a free site they cant do that and I have never read anything about them doing this anywhere on line . I hope no one has hacked into your blog and is trying one on ! I don't know of any other free blog sites . Papa and I have a website through Yahoo but that costs every month mind you we can do a lot more. Hope you get this sorted out and let us know what happens !
ReplyDeleteDon't know if this will help

I post through Live Writer not blogger it's self maybe try that !
ReplyDeleteNo,I do not pay to upload my pictures to blogger. I do however upload them at a much smaller size than the original,in order to save space.
ReplyDeleteI'm still paying $5.00 per year. I'm not sure if that will change.
ReplyDeleteI'm at blogspot.com, as you are, and I've never been asked to pay for photo space. This is the first time I've ever heard of such a thing.

ReplyDeleteI don't post many pics but when I do, I use tinypic.com, get the URL, then cut and paste it. Don't know if that'll help you but it's an idea.
ReplyDeleteBlogger only gives I think 2 gigabytes for free photo storage space... which for most people is quite a lot! If you use that up then you have to get a subscription. Starting last summer I had to pay the $5/year as well, which increased the storage space to something like 20G (or is it 10? I don't remember). But it's just once a year.
ReplyDeleteI too reduce the size of my photos so they don't take up as much space. But I have several blogs and LOTS of photos!
Think about it, other photo websites (Picasa, Flickr etc) also only give you X amount of free space!
What's weird is the monthly thing...
So far, no one has asked me to pay for it. LET US KNOW HOW IT TURNS OUT!
ReplyDeleteI pay the $5 per year. i made the mistake of dumping some of my photos from old posts, not understanding that they we all only on the cloud, and we gone for good. I have never gone back and restored them from picture files on cds.
ReplyDeleteSo far no problem with blogger.
I have never had to buy memory for photos, sounds like a scam to me...I'd report them to the BBB and the Attorney General from your state

I am now in the same situation as you were. Google are asking for a monthly payment. What do you suggest?
