When I heard that our local Photography Club
was
planning a trip out to photograph Alpacas at an Alpaca farm...
I was thrilled.
I always heard they were gentle creatures
and I heard they might spit at me.
I was willing to risk getting wet to be able to get up close and personal!
And??
I never got spit on and they were such fun and lovely creatures!
The farm hosts were kind enough to let us go inside their pens right close to them.
It was a gorgeous spring day and I had such a good time.
So stay tuned..this is the first of a four part series of photos of these fantastic animals.
They had sheared them prior to our arrival...so instead of fluffy sheep like fur,
they sported fresh shaved soft skin with short fur which I loved the texture and lines of!
Just LOOK at this face!! Don't you just want to take one home?? :
White, brown and black!:
A dentist's dream!!!:
Such a cutie!!
Hello, Lover!!:
(They had colored collars on so the owner's could tell them apart when they were shaved).
Just strollin' the field by himself:
WHO!? ( I ask):
Couldn't love THIS goofy guy's face??:
(They had such personalities!!)
I just wanted to nuzzle this guy's ears!!:
I think these two were just looking for trouble!:
I just fell in LOVE right then and there...
Now you will have to suffer, because I took so many photos of them,
that I have three more blogposts coming to share them with you!!
smiles. we have several alpaca farms nearby...they are pretty cool...the boys like their hair cut as well....smiles.

ReplyDeleteIt always is a surprise to see such differences in personality of animals. You can see their "selves" shine through.
ReplyDeleteGreat pictures of alpacas! They are posing for you! They love attention!
ReplyDeleteI don't know as I have ever seen them freshly shaved like that. Well, pictures. Never have seen them in person. Didn't know they had such long thin necks. Their big eyes are what draw you right in. Looking forward to more pics. :)
ReplyDeleteThey are wonderful and so is their fur. Larry and I have a double sized Alpaca throw on our bed in the winter time and it is just gorgeous. We liked it so much that we bought another smaller one to put on the back of the sofa.
ReplyDeleteJust such cute creatures with lovely eyes. God bless them!
Your pictures are fabulous!

Oh wow, those photos are great!!! What fun! We used to raise sheep and I really wanted one of these, but we got out of the sheep business before I could convince Hubs. hehe
ReplyDeleteI don't see them that often but I think they are a wonderfully designed animal. Your shots showed how streaked the shearing job that they had just received. I like the color of the fur.
ReplyDeleteGreat pictures, and they are really cute:)
