These were taken over the last month as the leaves began to change in our area.
There is a pond we drive by almost every day. I was waiting for the leaves to change so I could grab a photo of this pond. A few days ago, the air was colder than the water, which remained warm, and it sent up this delightful mist in the early morning. I was lucky enough to catch it that day on camera:
This was taken about a month ago when just a few of the leaves were starting to change in our area. I loved this overlook, and noticed just one branch in color:
When traveling in the woods, some trees had barely any color, and some trees had full branches of lovely yellows, oranges and reds:
Time progressed over the last few weeks, and over time, we got in high autumn colors, in all its glory!:
We went to look for moose along this railroad track and found several footprints, but did not see the moose. A wasp did find my hand and I got stung pretty badly.
But look at the colors starting to show in the area:
And within two weeks,
THIS
happened!:
Here is another one of that misty pond again!:
And the color EXPLODED on our lake!:
It was a photographer's dream!:
Because, we got SNOW all three of the last three days.
We are supposed to be back up in the 50's by Sunday, but just in case we stay white here with snow, I wanted you to see our autumn now.
Beautiful autumn trees, reflecting lake and perfect clouds...what more could a photographer want! Oh I forgot the dreamy mist!

ReplyDelete"within two weeks THIS happened" is my new desktop background. Seriously, should look into selling some of your stuff to Hallmark or a poster company or something. Really.
Your photos are absolutely gorgeous! I've been looking over everything I've been missing - love the police reports! I'll be here for days catching up - love it!
ReplyDeleteI love me some pretty fall pics.
ReplyDeleteI was looking to see which picture I liked best and I like them all. Some are more striking than others but all of them are wonderful. What a beautiful fall you are having. Our dry weather a month ago is messing up our color changes. Some are turning brown and just dropping leaves.
ReplyDeleteGinnymo: Thanks! I was surprised to see how many people liked the train track one.
ReplyDeleteLesley: I would LOVE to do a book, but would probably have to self publish and then have boxes of unsold ones laying around. ha
Gaston: Thanks so much! It is is such a compliment coming from you, because you KNOW how I admire your talents!
Grannyann: Yes, I love fall too. It is just too bad it precedes winter. ha
Ashley: The sun was just perfect that day on the lake to capture them and with no wind to help reflections, I could not NOT take the pictures then. ha
DJan: you are so sweet and always such a cheerleader for me! Thanks so much.
Sara: Thanks. Yes our area is calm and serene in so many places...you can always find a place close to home to get away into nature quickly.
JJ: Thank you!! I love it when the mist comes off water in the fall. It happens quite often here in the early, early morning, but you have to be in the right place at the right time. This morning, we had another HARD frost and our lake did the same thing..I haven't looked at the pictures much yet to see if they captured it right or not...so stay tuned!
Insanity: Again, you are welcome..I love LOVE taking autumn splendor pictures, so it my pleasure to post them for you!
Aria: Thanks, Sweetie! Wow, what confidence you give me (and encouragement!) I would love to sell some of my photos, and will be looking into it this winter. Wanna be my agent??? :-}
RainGardener: I love that you are taking time to "catch up" on all my posts..that is such a nice compliment! Thanks so much.
Kearsie: Me, too! I can't get enough of the fall colors this year!
