I am amazed that I am still finding beautiful wildflowers out there during late summer, but we still are.
So here is this week's collection of "this and that" for your enjoyment.
First, a bright pink wild rose.
First, a bright pink wild rose.
This was blooming along Lake Superior on the shoreline.
They smelled as good as they look:
This gorgeous moon was out over our back yard one night!:
These purple spiked flowers were water flowers growing out of a pond:
This is a water fountain on a little inland lake in a small town near where we live:
Another wildflower we saw blooming beside Lake Superior:
This is a sunset over our Lake Michigamme:
You showed off Michigan's gorgeous sunsets beautifully!! My wildflowers (well actually the hubby's since he planted them) -just bloomed this past week. I fear summer is coming to a quick end!
ReplyDeleteJoan what't not to enjoy? They are all beautiful especially the full moon.....so love it. Keep them coming my friend.....:-) Hugs
ReplyDeleteAt first I loved the moon, then the sunset, but the old fashioned roses got to me! Just too beautiful!!!
ReplyDeleteShelley: Thanks. I can't resist a good sunset photo. I can smell autumn and we are seeing a LOT of leaves changing color already in the woods. Sigh.
ReplyDeletebeautiful sunset. nice that you have such beauty in your back yard.
ReplyDeleteAbsolutely gorgeous!!!! Thank you so much!!
ReplyDeleteThe power of vision to invoke other senses is amazing. I swear when I looked at that first rose picture I could smell it! And then I saw that you had talked about its odor. And the other two pink pictures, the wildflower with the bee, and the absolutely stunning old fashioned roses were like having dessert. Yum!
ReplyDeleteYour lake certainly gives you some superior photo opps! The moon is incredible.
ReplyDeleteWhat a beautiful scenery!! And the roses are so fresh and crisp I believe I can smell them!! Beautiful pictures again, I'm so glad I can look through your eyes and your lens to explore this little piece of paradise together with you!
ReplyDeletethat moon is truly amazing!
ReplyDeleteI love the last picture with the rose buds. The flowers with the bees on them creeped me out because I'm allergic to bees. lol!
ReplyDeleteI'm not sure which I would pick as my favourite photo - there is so much beauty in all of them.
ReplyDeleteOh, these are beautiful! I always love your photos, but these are some of my favorites so far. Especially the sunsets. Thanks for sharing!
ReplyDeleteBernie: Thanks Sweetie. I hope to keep them coming as long as I still have eyesight and a trigger finger to click the shutter. ha
ReplyDeleteWanda: I love all flowers and all sunsets, so not to worry...more of these will always be on my blog.
Brian: It sure is nice to have these in my back yard and neighborhood. I am blessed!
Boomer: You are most welcome...thank YOU for being a Follower and stopping by and leaving comments. All the comments keep me motivated to go out and find other nice scenes and flowers to shoot.
DJan: What a nice way to put it..."like having dessert". I feel the same way about the roses I see in nature. I just shut my eyes and inhale deeply to feel their scent all through me.
Cheryl: Yes, especially in late summer thru autumn. I love those big orange harvest moons!
Jientje: Great compliments! Looking at other's photography is like looking through their eyes, isn't it? I so enjoy your photos and some of my other daily blogs that I read too!
Roshni: I love the moon and sunsets I get the privilege of shooting. Every one of them.
JJ: Sorry about the bees creeping you out! I often take the photos with bugs or bees because they add a little interest to the flower photos.
Loree: What a nice thing to say! (that you can't pick a favorite!) Thanks so much.
Lesley: You are so kind. I was hoping the Followers wouldn't be getting tired of more flower or scenery photos. I never tire of them, but that is different. ha I am glad you enjoyed them.
Your sunset and clouds view are great, after a long stroll along the path with flowers.
ReplyDeleteRainfield: Thanks! yes they were a great end of the day treat.
ReplyDeleteYou really need to look into putting together a coffee table photographic book on the UP, it's flowers and birds. It would be beautiful.
ReplyDeleteYou asked where I put stuff. I pass a lot on to my daughter, I have a huge house with an upstairs and a basement. Believe me you can walk around my house even though my garage sale items make you wonder. We have a sale once a year where I get rid of a lot of things I am tired of. I used to have a craft business out of my home so I guess I am used to storing stuff well.
Grannyann: wow. What a wonderful compliment...a book of my photos??? You made my day! Thanks so much for the ongoing encouragement and compliments. It really motivates me to keep taking photos.
ReplyDeleteI need to come to your yard sales...because all of the stuff you show is so cute! You will have to give pointers on how to store stuff effeciently..maybe a blog post. Seriously, you would probably help the rest of us get organized!
The sun, the moon, and fabulous flower photos - I enjoyed both this and that!
ReplyDeleteBarb: Thanks! I enjoyed taking the photos for you too.
