I got the Vacation-is-over-I'm Goin' Home Blues........

I know you probably will have absolutely NO sympathy for me, but we have to head towards home starting tomorrow...and I'm feelin' the blues!!

Our money is getting low from vacationing :-) and we worry about our house up north being empty and on low heat while we are gone. Luckily, we have a nice cousin stopping by every couple days at our house in Michigan to check on the heat and make sure no water leaks or other disasters have occurred while we have been away. But, it is time to get back to reality and head back home up north. We heard the U.P. had ANOTHER crappy twelve inches of snow this week. UGH! It will be so hard to return to that after enjoying no snow these last two weeks!

So,anyway..If you don't see a posting here for a few days, you'll know that there weren't at any places with wireless at the hotels we are staying at to get back home (or that we were too exhausted to do anything but fall into bed instead of blogging each night).

Please keep checking the blog, and as soon as I can, I will return to my regular blogging again at home.

It has been fun taking you on vacation with us. If I get any more fun photos on the trip back home, I will post them when I can for you all!!!

  1. I tried super hard to feel sorry for you. Alas, the "feel sorry for you" jar is empty. It might fill up again if you blog that you found a roach in your bed or something else hideous in your hotel room. For now, nothing but the stale remains of jealousy. ;)

  6. Kearsie: I completely understand. You look good in green, girlfriend (you know: green with jealousy). Your day is coming...you too will someday travel (when you are old and retired like me) haha
Roaches??? EWWWW. Now you'll have me itching all night. You are an EVIL woman. LOL

Insanity Kim: I know. I hate frozen tears. And forget about using roadside stops!! ha

Aria: You sweetheart you! I am not sure how the EC credits work? I am signed up on entercard, but haven't learned how to use it much yet. I will have to read more when I get home or maybe send you a private e-mail. You just keep making my day. Are you some kind of guardian angel or what??? And congrats on your 100th post. WOW!
You must be a world traveler on Feedit. BTW, it always says I am from Appleton Wisconsin when I am home in Michigan. WTF??? We are in Florida tonight, which actually shows up accurately on it. Go figure.

Sara: Thanks honey! We are going to try and take it easy....keeping our eye on the weather up north too.

Beverley: Thanks SO much for mentioning me in your blog...how sweet of you! We are already bundling up because Florida only had a high of 59 degrees today. Guess it knows we are going north and it is trying to toughen us up! ha

  7. I have complete sympathy for you. I know exactly about those kind of feelings, I've been there myself a few times. Just think of the trip back as another part of the vacation.

  9. Ratty: Thanks, I need a shoulder to cry on. Ha! I was doing ok about it today, and then I got an e-mail from a friend in the U.P. who said it was -23 degrees this morning there. (yup, you read correctly: that is 23 degrees BELOW zero). For-the-love-of-God, it HAS go get better soon????

Loree: Thanks for your wishes of safety! We will try our best to stay safe.

  11. Ms.Happy Gilmore: (Wow! You sure have a LOT of names and blogs! ha) I love where I live (in the U.P.of Michigan all spring, summer and first half of the autumn when the leaves are so beautiful). So my dilemma is after that and until spring. What the ideal would be for me is if we could go there for 1 to 2 months a year. We are considering that if the economy gets better (as we have some properties up north we could sell). We will see!

  13. Ms. Happy Gilmore: Thanks! We are going to my daughter's house in Kenosha Wisconsin for one day to hug on my two grandkids and then Friday we will drive home (we live about 9 hours north of there). Looking at the weather, it is actually warmer than when we left and no snow in the forecast so at least that makes me feel better!

  17. Thank you for visiting my blog. I know I haven't posted in ages but I have been involved in paid writing because unfortunatey the blog is something I do for love alone. I have been working hard and at the end of the day there is no more time for blogging. I will return as soon as time permits. Thanks again for your concern, keep up you excellent work!

  18. I'm worried about your trip home, because if you pass through my neck of the woods, you might catch me taking photos in department stores, and then what would I write about?

Have a safe and fun trip home!

  19. June: I saw your beautiful country, so maybe we can ride in EACH other's back pockets?????

Paula: No problem. I was just concerned as I enjoyed reading it and saw you hadn't blogged in a while! I wanted you to know you were missed.

Lynn: I made it thru without seeing a crazy woman in the dept. store taking photos, so you are home-free! We just pulled in our Michigan driveway at home a few hours ago, so I am safe!
I will catch my breath and start blogging regularly again over the next few days!!!!!
