I hate Goodbyes....

My morning did not start out well. At 7:00 a.m., my phone rang and it was the husband of my friend, who has been battling liver cancer for the last 4 months. She passed away early this morning. I dedicate this blog to her, her family, her friends and any one out there who is struggling with a terminal disease. I know she is out of pain now and enveloped by the love of all who knew her and loved her so much. We will miss her terribly and treasure the time we had with her on this earth.

  2. Brittany, Kearsie and Insanity Kim: Thanks so much for your support and love. She was a terrific person. She was my secretary and co-worker for years. I even left working there for a few years and came back and was lucky enough to have her work with me again. You guys are so sweet to have left a comment of support for me! I love my Blogger friends!!

  4. Pehpot, thanks so much!

Sara, Thanks. Yes, it helps so much to know she is not in pain anymore and that she is not so scared. I am lucky in that I had sent her a long letter to tell her how much I loved her and what she has meant in my life two weeks ago, and she was awake then and got it in time.
Thanks so much for the Passionate Blogger Award! I will try and post it later today. You are a DOLL!

  5. I am so sorry to hear your news.
And thanks for understanding about the delay in Pip's story on Journeys in Creative Writing. I'm hoping that people will still be able to read the heaps of other stories on the site. I know that you have already read most of them Retired One!

  6. It's always hard to lose someone who is close to you, but hopefully she is somewhere happy and watching over all her loved ones.

  7. Hi again, So sorry for your loss I am sending you love and hugs through the ethers, I have just seen your comment on my affirmation for the day. A Miracle as that is not what I was going to put on today but the post I had, mysteriously went missing. While fumbling around I saw that on my desk.Something made me post it and then Your comment came in not even 10 Minutes after the post was published. It was obviously meant for you.
I hope your day is better tomorrow
    My thoughts are with you

  8. June: Thanks so much for taking the time to leave me your wonderful comment(s). I love to read your stories and I am sure you are very busy and concerned about what is going on in your country right now. You and all of those that have lost so much continue to be in my thoughts, also.

Ratty: Yes, it is hard. But she had so many friends who loved her, we support each other. It is a nice thought that she is watching over all of us, as well. She always was a "caretaker" of all of us on earth, so it would be fitting for her to continue to do so!

Beverly: I thought the same thing. Here I click on your blog site (like I usually do once a day) and there is one that says "dealing with grief". It was positively eerie. I am sure it was "meant to be". Isn't it strange how life works and sends us messages when we most need to hear them? Thanks for being my "special messenger". LOL

  10. PattyE: Thank you so much for your comments. Even though you expect that call to come in, it is still upsetting and of course, the finality of it all settles in.....
