And now the leaves are so beautiful up here, I can't take enough pictures fast enough.

VaBookworm: That is for sure...we are very blessed to have beautiful nature all around us!

Catherine: Thanks so much. I love that picture too...I am always mesmerized by water and sky.

Brian: You are going camping soon? Can't wait to read your poems about being out there with the little guys!

Cathy: Oh yes, we found it..it was beautiful. If we still had a camper, we would have definitely stayed the night there.

L.D.: Thanks, yes autumn up here is spectacular with its colors, smells, crisp air and beauty. I am out as much as possible taking photos these days before the wind and snow comes.

DJan: We wondered where everyone was, too....but I love it when we go someplace gorgeous and there aren't others around...it is like our private resort or playground then.

Shelley: Hope there is room in the truck for me too. ha

Brittany: I like a big forest of tall pines too...and of course maple trees here because they turn a gorgeous red in the autumn.

DVM's Wife: Lake Culhane is right off Co.Rd. 500, on the east side..there is a sign to direct you to turn in there...it is fantastic..you must visit it!
I will definitely let you know if I can organize a Yooper Blogger meeting. Probably I will aim for spring due to the changing weather here during the winter.

Ginnymo: Thanks! We hadn't had hotdogs over a campfire in years before this trip, either. Aren't they great that way?

Boomer: It was mid week and it was cold, so probably most of the tourists now are done with their camping up here.

JJ: Oh, they are delicious! It is part of our childhood memories, too..of camping with our families, so part of its appeal is nostalgia, too.

Ratty: you HAVE to come to the U.P, Ratty. It isn't that far from your area and you would love it...most places here when you hike does not have a lot of people and you can hike for miles and miles...

Mitr Friend: It was lovely, thanks!

SquirrelQueen: Thanks so much. It was such fun taking them at such a beautiful place!

Bernie: I have missed you too. I won't get to your blogs for a few days probably, because I have been out getting more autumn photos, but I will read them!

Sue: When you come to the U.P. again, you have to let me know so I can meet you! Yes, a lot of the areas are empty when you hike, which I love here!! It is like having your own playground!

Loree: It sure was!!!The Retired Onehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02466803019073952351noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3803801517332763895.post-57948115466473674952009-10-07T06:59:01.658-04:002009-10-07T06:59:01.658-04:00Great picnic spot.Great picnic spot.Loreehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12520908604580765632noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3803801517332763895.post-57588590471653622962009-10-07T06:22:50.550-04:002009-10-07T06:22:50.550-04:00Heading home through the U.P. yesterday, it really...Heading home through the U.P. yesterday, it really struck us how "empty" it really is up there.....and how much we miss it at times. Yes, I am all for a Yooper blogger's get together. Even though we don't live up in da' U.P. we still pay those twice a year property taxes with a Newberry zip code! Keep me in the loop as to your plans for getting together. Where is this campground? Is it the eastern part of 500 or western towards Grand Marais?
