They really look very exotic for me. Those lupine leaves look like our cassava leaves, and when they are variegated makes very good ornamental plants. I took a picture of my grand the other day, and when it was on the computer I noticed a smudge near her eye. When I zoomed in, it was a mosquito. I didn't see a bite when I examined her face the next day, however.
