Mexico: Come travel with me!! : PART ONE

Today,
we start my series on our trip to Mexico.

I have a TON of photos, so let's get to it, shall we???

First of all....where in the heck did we GO?

Well, we have been to Mexico several times to escape the frigid cold of Upper Michigan in the winter.
We usually go in February.

We usually go to the Yucatan Peninsula area (around Cancun) and have also gone to the Pacific side (Puerto Vallarta).
I had always heard about Los Cabos, and knew it had mountains (I LOVE mountains!!)
and desert (which I have never been to).  I also heard about the famous landmark
at the very end tip of the Baja Peninsula called "Land's End" which are a bunch of gorgeous
rock formations jutting out of the Pacific Ocean.

I knew that is the spot I wanted to check out this year.

Click on this LINK to see where it is on the map of the world!

I was so excited!
The terrain was soooo different than anything we had ever seen before.

I had read the weather forecast the day before we left and was disappointed to see
that it called for two days of rain --when we were to arrive.

When the plane landed, it was very cloudy.

We got our luggage, found our transportation to our all-inclusive hotel,
and as soon as we got on the van to head there,
this is what we saw:

Taken out of the van window:

But, I was THRILLED to be there.

I mean...MOUNTAINS!!
Do you see the MOUNTAINS?

I had my face pressed to the window to check out the terrain.

It was so different than anywhere else we had been in Mexico before.

But?
After the 30 minute ride to the resort, and checking in to our room...
the sun broke out, it warmed up to the upper 70's and we were so so happy!

Here are some photos of the resort as we arrived and saw our room, etc.:

Part of our hotel complex.
This high room is the one I want next time.

I just loved these sphere fountains:

I just knew we would have a great time here,
and
we DID....

looks like a gorgeous place. i'm surprised you'd be willing to return, though. i'm afraid that stomach bug would have ruined my taste for it!

I'm glad the sun came out for you! Los Cabos is beautiful.

I knew the hotel looked familiar but I wasn't sure until you showed the bar at the pool. We had lunch there one day! Hmm, guess I remember the bars better than the hotels...
