I love seeing the detail up close when I look at the photos too. They fly so fast in person you don't get to get a really close look at them then.

Joanie: I know exactly what you mean. I have not tried a tripod yet, and I know if I used one, I would get better photos. But I like the spontaneity of just being able to whip out my camera when I see something in nature and take a quick shot. I may practice my first tripods with my flowers, as they aren't going anywhere. :-}

Rural Rambler: I love the feathers and the coloring on the closeup shots, too. The detail on birds is amazing!

Scrappy Doo: I had to be patient, that's for sure!

Gardener: Those were actually several different birds (I think!) but I patiently waited and snapped them. They kind of got used to me after a while, as I was sitting in a chair on the deck pretty close to the feeder when I took them.

Lynn: What a nice compliment! I can't wait for my camera class. I hope it is geared for the "challenged". ha

Insanity: Don't be jealous! Well, okay..just a little. Just sit by your feeder and click away, you may get lucky and get a good shot!

Cathy: That is so strange! No one else has said that and on both my laptop screen (which is smaller than my other computer) and my computer all the full photos show up. Did you retry? Is it still the same?

DVM's Wife: I will love looking at your hummer pictures too. These little guys are drinking me out of sap fast! I was so glad they found the feeder so quickly.

Sharon: I KNOW! They have whizzed by my head and scared me even when I was outside sitting on the deck taking their photos.

Cedar: Thanks! I was surprised how cute he was when I took the close up head shot too!

Shellmo: Thanks, I might do that! I have had a few other people encouraging me to enter photo contests.

Ratty: Thanks! I love these little birds. They are amazing little creatures.

Grannyann: I have heard of that happening to folks before, but then they came back.

Ramblin' Mama: That must have been beautiful to have the gorgeous tree along with the beautiful birds zooming in and out of it....I sure would want to sit at your window then and take some magnificent photos!

JJ: Thanks! I loved taking them!

Melissa: I would want to sit at your mom's feeders myself! ha

Bernie: Thanks so much! This is our first year putting up a hummingbird feeder. I was so tickled that they came right to the feeder within about an hour of hanging it. It was such fun watching and taking shots of them.

Gaston Studio: Thanks so much! I am trying to learn more and experiment more and more. I am taking a class next Saturday, I can't wait!The Retired Onehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02466803019073952351noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3803801517332763895.post-6570707299753988932009-05-31T07:59:33.902-04:002009-05-31T07:59:33.902-04:00Great photos, as usual, but not so usual to get so...Great photos, as usual, but not so usual to get so many shots of hummingbirds! I also remember the beautiful purple martin house he had mounted on a pole (footed in cement) It was high off the ground and oh so beautiful...Love these pictures my friend, your photography is awesome....:-) HugsBerniehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03024565921761129108noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3803801517332763895.post-6209913201157156652009-05-30T22:36:41.765-04:002009-05-30T22:36:41.765-04:00Those are amazing pictures you captured.
